In the field linguistics, DCT is among the most effective tools used to analyze the communication habits of learners. It can be used to study various issues that include politeness, turn taking, and lexical choices. It can be used to evaluate the phonological complexity of the learners speaking. A recent study employed the DCT to assess EFL students' ability to resist. The participants were given various scenarios and were required to choose a suitable response from the options provided.
