As a result, two novel natural products, an unusual angucyclinone pentangumycin and a new type II polyketide synthase shunt product SEK90, were identified. After purification and structure elucidation, the biosynthetic pathways leading to the formation of pentangumycin and SEK90 were deduced using mutational analysis of the biosynthetic gene cluster and feeding experiments with 13C-labelled precursors. The aim of this study was to measure, at the population level, the prevalence, bother, and treatment-related behavior for lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) and overactive bladder syndrome (OAB) in a large cohort of cardiology patients. This report is a further analysis of data from LUTS POLAND, a computer-assisted telephone survey that reflected the entire Polish population, stratified by age, sex, and place of residence. LUTS and OAB were assessed by a standardized protocol, the International Continence Society definitions, and validated questionnaires. In addition, all participants provided information regarding their behavior as it related to LUTS treatment. Overall, 6005 participants completed interviews, and 1835 (30.6%) had received treatment by cardiologists. The prevalence of LUTS was 73.3% for cardiology participants compared with 57.0% for respondents who were not treated by cardiologists ( < 0.001). There were no differences between men and women in LUTS prevalence for cardiology patiecooperation between cardiologists and urologists.Few clinical studies have previously discussed patients with carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (CRKP) bacteriuria. This study aimed to assess the effect of antimicrobial therapy on the mortality of patients with CRKP bacteriuria. Hospitalized adults with CRKP bacteriuria were enrolled retrospectively from 16 hospitals in Taiwan during 2013 and 2014. Critically ill patients were defined as those with an Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation (APACHE) II score ≥ 20. Multivariate Cox regression analysis was used to determine independent risk factors for 14- and 28-day mortality. Of 107 patients with CRKP bacteriuria, the 14-day and 28-day mortality was 14.0% and 25.2%, respectively. Thirty-three patients received appropriate antimicrobial therapy. In the multivariate Cox regression analysis, the APACHE II score ≥ 20 was the only independent risk factor for 14-day mortality (hazard ratio [HR] 6.15, p = 0.024). APACHE II score ≥ 20 (HR 3.05, p = 0.018) and male sex (HR 2.57, p = 0.037) were associated with 28-day mortality. Among critically ill patients with CRKP bacteriuria, appropriate antimicrobial therapy was not associated with 14-day or 28-day survival. In conclusion, in patients with CRKP bacteriuria, the use of appropriate antimicrobial therapy was not an independent factor associated with reduced mortality. Our findings may inform future antibiotic stewardship interventions for bacteriuria caused by multidrug resistant pathogens.Limited by the Shannon-Nyquist sampling law, the number of antenna elements and echo signal data of the traditional microwave three-dimensional (3D) imaging system are extremely high. Compressed sensing imaging methods based on sparse representation of target scene can reduce the data sampling rate, but the dictionary matrix of these methods takes a lot of memory, and the imaging has poor quality for continuously distributed targets. For the above problems, a microwave 3D imaging method based on optimal wave spectrum reconstruction and optimization with target reflectance gradient is proposed in this paper. Based on the analysis of the spatial distribution characteristics of the target echo in the frequency domain, this method constructs an orthogonal projection reconstruction model for the wavefront to realize the optimal reconstruction of the target wave spectrum. Then, the inverse Fourier transform of the optimal target wave spectrum is optimized according to the law of the target reflectance gradient distribution. Increasing evidence indicates that AS plays an important role in regulating plant stress responses. However, the mechanism by which AS coordinates with transcriptional regulation to regulate drought responses in soybean remains poorly understood. In this study, we performed a genome-wide analysis of AS events in soybean (Glycine max) roots grown under various drought conditions using the high-throughput RNA-sequencing method, identifying 385, 989, 1429, and 465 AS events that were significantly differentially spliced under very mild drought stress, mild drought stress, severe drought stress, and recovery after severe drought conditions, respectively. Among them, alternative 3' splice sites and skipped exons were the major types of AS. Overall, 2120 genes that experienced significant AS regulation were identified from these drought-treated root samples. Gene Ontology term analysis indicated that the AS regulation of binding activity has vital roles in the drought response of soybean root. Notably, the genes encoding splicing regulatory factors in the spliceosome pathway and mRNA surveillance pathway were enriched according to the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway enrichment analysis. Splicing regulatory factor-related genes in soybean root also responded to drought stress and were alternatively spliced under drought conditions. Taken together, our data suggest that drought-responsive AS acts as a direct or indirect mode to regulate drought response of soybean roots. With further in-depth research of the function and mechanism of AS in the process of abiotic stress, these results will provide a new strategy for enhancing stress tolerance of plants.
