Post-implant hypotensive efficacy was evaluated by using a numerical model and a computational fluid dynamics simulation. Using baseline IOPs of 25, 30 and 50 mmHg, respectively, the corresponding computed post-implant IOPs for each device were as follows XEN 45 17 mmHg (29% decrease), 19 mmHg (45%) and 20 mmHg (59%) respectively; XEN 63 13 mmHg (48%), 13 mmHg (62%), and 13 mmHg (73%); PreserFlo 12 mmHg (59%), 13 mmHg (73%) and 13 mmHg (73%). At a baseline IOP of 35 mmHg with an increase in the outflow resistance within the Bp from 5 to 17 mmHg, the hypotensive efficacy for each device was reduced as follows XEN45 54% to 37%; XEN 63 74% to 46%; and PreserFlo 75% to 47%. The length and the position of the tube in the AC had only a minimal (non-significant) effect on IOP (<0.1 mmHg). This hydrodynamic/numerical model showed that implant diameter and bleb pressure are the two most pertinent determinants of hypotensive efficacy. In distinction, tube length and position in the AC do not significantly influence IOP. In distinction, tube length and position in the AC do not significantly influence IOP.This article describes the isolation, molecular characterization, and genotyping of two fowl adenovirus (FAdVs) strains with GenBank Accession numbers (MT478054, JSN-G033-18-L and MT478055, JSN-G033-18-B) obtained from the internal organs of black grouse (Lyrurus tetrix). This study also reveals the first confirmation of fowl adenovirus in Poland, supporting one of the hypotheses about the probability of fowl adenovirus interspecies transmission. The adenovirus strain sequences were investigated via phylogenetic analysis and were found to have an overall mean pairwise distance of 2.189. The heterogeneity, Relative Synonymous Codon Usage (RSCU), codon composition, and nucleotide frequencies were examined. Statistical analyses and Tajima's test for the examined sequences were carried out. The Maximum Likelihood for the examined sequences substitutions was performed. The results of the sequence analysis identified MT478054, JSN-G033-18-L and MT478055, JSN-G033-18-B as strains of fowl adenovirus 2/11/D, with the Fowl adenovirus D complete sequence showing a 93% match. Wild birds may act as a natural reservoir for FAdVs and likely play an important role in the spreading of these viruses in the environment. The findings reported here suggest horizontal transmission within and between avian species.This study provides new perspectives on urban development and conservation by exploring the spatial interaction between ecosystem services and urbanization. Limited studies have discussed the interaction between ecosystem services and urbanization; therefore, in this research, the spatial relationship between ecosystem services and urbanization is explored by taking the urban agglomeration in Central Yunnan as an example, and land-use data and economic and social data from 2009 and 2018 are used to determine the interactive impact of urbanization on the urban ecosystem. It is shown that (1) the spatial distribution of the urbanization level of the urban agglomeration in Central Yunnan has significant regional differences, showing a decreasing trend from the urbanized area to the surrounding areas. (2) Another factor with obvious regional differences is the spatial distribution of ecosystem services, which is similar to urbanization in spatial distribution. This difference is mainly caused by the impact of the urbanization level and the change in land use. (3) The spatial distribution and local agglomeration of urbanization and the ecosystem service value of urban agglomeration in Central Yunnan are very similar, and there is a significant negative correlation between the urbanization level and ecosystem service value. The research results have guiding significance for future urban and ecological development in Central Yunnan city.Understanding evolution requires detailed knowledge of genotype-phenotype maps; however, it can be a herculean task to measure every phenotype in a combinatorial map. We have developed a computational strategy to predict the missing phenotypes from an incomplete, combinatorial genotype-phenotype map. As a test case, we used an incomplete genotype-phenotype dataset previously generated for the malaria parasite's 'chloroquine resistance transporter' (PfCRT). Wild-type PfCRT (PfCRT3D7) lacks significant chloroquine (CQ) transport activity, but the introduction of the eight mutations present in the 'Dd2' isoform of PfCRT (PfCRTDd2) enables the protein to transport CQ away from its site of antimalarial action. This gain of a transport function imparts CQ resistance to the parasite. A combinatorial map between PfCRT3D7 and PfCRTDd2 consists of 256 genotypes, of which only 52 have had their CQ transport activities measured through expression in the Xenopus laevis oocyte. We trained a statistical model with these 52 ously published genotype-phenotype maps. The model therefore appears general and should be applicable to a large number of genotype-phenotype maps. Burkholderia pseudomallei is an environmental bacterium that causes melioidosis. A facultative intracellular pathogen, B. pseudomallei can induce multinucleated giant cells (MNGCs) leading to plaque formation in vitro. B. pseudomallei can switch colony morphotypes under stress conditions. In addition, different isolates have been reported to have varying virulence in vivo, but genomic evolution and the relationship with plaque formation is poorly understood. To gain insights into genetic underpinnings of virulence of B. pseudomallei, we screened plaque formation of 52 clinical isolates and 11 environmental isolates as well as 4 isogenic morphotype isolates of B. pseudomallei strains K96243 (types II and III) and 153 (types II and III) from Thailand in A549 and HeLa cells. All isolates except one environmental strain (A4) and K96243 morphotype II were able to induce plaque formation in both cell lines. Intracellular growth assay and confocal microscopy analyses demonstrated that the two plaque-forming-defective isolates were also impaired in intracellular replication, actin polymerization and MNGC formation in infected cells.
