The EA mixture sample containing filler composed of dust from aggregate had a significantly higher strength and longer fatigue life than that of the EA sample containing filler composed of mineral powder.Impaired fetal growth is one of the most important causes of prematurity, stillbirth and infant mortality. The pathogenesis of idiopathic fetal growth restriction (FGR) is poorly understood but is thought to be multifactorial and comprise a range of genetic causes. This research aimed to investigate non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in the placentas of male and female fetuses affected by FGR. RNA-Seq data were analyzed to detect lncRNAs, their potential target genes and circular RNAs (circRNAs); a differential analysis was also performed. The multilevel bioinformatic analysis enabled the detection of 23,137 placental lncRNAs and 4263 of them were classified as novel. In FGR-affected female fetuses' placentas (ff-FGR), among 19 transcriptionally active regions (TARs), five differentially expressed lncRNAs (DELs) and 12 differentially expressed protein-coding genes (DEGs) were identified. Within 232 differentially expressed TARs identified in male fetuses (mf-FGR), 33 encompassed novel and 176 known lncRNAs, and 52 DEGs were upregulated, while 180 revealed decreased expression. In ff-FGR ACTA2-AS1, lncRNA expression was significantly correlated with five DEGs, and in mf-FGR, 25 TARs were associated with DELs correlated with 157 unique DEGs. Backsplicing circRNA processes were detected in the range of H19 lncRNA, in both ff- and mf-FGR placentas. The performed global lncRNAs characteristics in terms of fetal sex showed dysregulation of DELs, DEGs and circRNAs that may affect fetus growth and pregnancy outcomes. In female placentas, DELs and DEGs were associated mainly with the vasculature, while in male placentas, disturbed expression predominantly affected immune processes.Nonequilibrium temperature is a topic of research with continuously growing interest because of recent improvements in and applications of nonequilibrium thermodynamics, with particular regard to information theory, kinetic theory, nonequilibrium molecular dynamics, superfluids, radiative systems, etc. All studies on nonequilibrium temperature have pointed out that the definition of nonequilibrium temperature must be related to different aspects of the system, to the energy of the system, and to the energy fluxes between the system and its environment. In this paper, we introduce a definition of nonequilibrium temperature based on the Gouy-Stodola and Carnot theorems in order to satisfy all these theoretical requirements. The result obtained links nonequilibrium temperature to the electromagnetic outflow, generated by irreversibility during microscopic interaction in the system; to the environmental temperature; to the mean energy; and to the geometrical and physical characteristics of the system.In this paper, a novel drill bit breakage prediction method featuring a low-cost commercial infrared sensor to monitor drill bit corner wear is proposed. In the proposed method, the drill bit outer corner wear state can be monitored by measuring reflected infrared light because the reflection phenomenon is influenced by wear, edge shape, and surface roughness of the drill bit. In the experiments, a titanium workpiece was drilled without using cutting fluid to accelerate drill bit fracture. After drilling a hole in the workpiece, reflected infrared light was measured for the drill bit rotating at 100 rpm. Collected data on intensity of infrared light reflected from the circumferential surface of the drill bit versus the rotation angle of the drill bit were considered to predict tool breakage; two significant positions to predict tool breakage were found from the reflected infrared light graphs. By defining gradient vectors from the slopes of the reflected infrared light curves, a reliable criterion for determining drill bit breakage could be established. The proposed method offers possibilities for new measurement and analysis methods that have not been used in conventional tool wear and damage studies. The advantage of the proposed method is that the measurement device is easy to install and the measured signal is resistant to electromagnetic noise and ambient temperature because optical fiber is used as the signal transmission medium. It also eliminates the need for complex analysis of the measured signal, eliminating the need for a high-performance analyzer and reducing analysis time.Atopic dermatitis is a chronic, non-infectious inflammatory dermatosis. The numerous complex changes at thegenetic level and innate and adaptive immunity provide the basis for characterizing the various phenotypes and endotypes of atopic dermatitis. Emerging therapies rely on the action of specific molecules involved in the disease's pathogenesis. It may be the starting point for the individualization of atopic dermatitis treatment. This paper will try to present some molecular mechanisms of atopic dermatitis and their clinical implications.The immunogenicity of the candidate tuberculosis (TB) vaccine MVA85A may be enhanced by aerosol delivery. Intradermal administration was shown to be safe in adults with latent TB infection (LTBI), but data are lacking for aerosol-delivered candidate TB vaccines in this population. We carried out a Phase I trial to evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of MVA85A delivered by aerosol in UK adults with LTBI (NCT02532036). Two volunteers were recruited, and the vaccine was well-tolerated with no safety concerns. Aerosolised vaccination with MVA85A induced mycobacterium- and vector-specific IFN-γ in blood and mycobacterium-specific Th1 cytokines in bronchoalveolar lavage.
