Článek však v žádném případě nelze brát jako univerzální návod pro diagnostiku renálních tumorů. Renální karcinomy dokážou mít velmi variabilní morfologický vzhled a to i v rámci jedné léze (nádorová heterogenita) a často velmi nepředvídatelný a neuniformní imunohistochemický profil.
