OUTCOMES AND MEASURES HSRT. OUTCOMES All pupils showed a significant escalation in results from the research subtest associated with the HSRT (p = .004). Both research (p = .001) and total HSRT (p = .025) scores enhanced significantly for 55 students which finished nontraditional fieldwork. Pupils whom finished nontraditional fieldwork along with taken multiple previous research courses (p = .014) and had a higher grade point average (p = .033) had a greater probability of improving their HSRT score. Conclusion and Relevance Although in this pilot study both Level I conventional and nontraditional fieldwork enhanced critical reasoning, further development and study of pedagogical methods that enable important reasoning are essential.
