Pupils whom finished nontraditional fieldwork along with taken multiple previous research courses (p = .014) and had a higher grade point average (p = .033) had a greater probability of improving their HSRT score. Conclusion and Relevance Although in this pilot study both Level I conventional and nontraditional fieldwork enhanced critical reasoning, further development and study of pedagogical methods that enable important reasoning are essential.
