https://www.selleckchem.com/products/Triciribine.html Diffuse p16 staining aids in the diagnosis of HPV-related carcinomas, particularly HPV-related HNSCC, across the body and according to sex. In contrast, focal/patchy p16 staining does not correlate with HPV status across various body sites. In conclusion, intensity of p16 matters and should be correlated with cytomorphology, clinical history, and ancillary studies (eg, p40 immunostaining) for an accurate diagnosis and preventing diagnostic pitfalls. The cytopathology electronic database and institutional quality assurance records at Loyola University Medical Center were searched from January 2009 to December 2019 to identify all Papanicolaou tests diagnosed as new "HSIL and above" (HSIL+). Major discrepancy (2+) was defined as initial negative diagnosis changed to HSIL+. A total of 153,083 Papanicolaou tests were performed during this period; out of these, 1452 (0.94%) were diagnosed as HSIL+. A total of 695 HSIL+ Papanicolaou tests had a negative prior Papanicolaou a
