Overexpression of MT1JP inhibited proliferation, cell cycle transition, migration and invasion, and induced apoptosis in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma cells. To assess the predictive value of common measures validated to predict falls in other geriatric populations in patients presenting with suspected Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH). One hundred ninety-five patients over the age of 60 who received the Fall Risk Questionnaire were retrospectively recruited from the CSF Disorders clinic within the departments of Neurosurgery and Neurology. Multiple logistic regression was used to create a model to predict falls for patients with suspected NPH using common measures Timed Up & Go, Dual Timed Up & Go, 10 Meter Walk, MiniBESTest, 6-Minute Walk, Lower Extremity Function (Mobility), Fall Risk Questionnaire, and Functional Activities Questionnaire. The Fall Risk Questionnaire and age were shown to be the best predictors of falls. The model was 95.92% (Positive predictive value 83.93%) sensitive and 47.92% specific (Negative predictive value 77.78%). Patients presenting with suspected NPH are at an increased fall risk, 75% of the total patients and 89% of patients who responded to a temporary drain of CSF had at least one fall in the past 6 months. Currently, there is an urgent need for efficient tools to assess the diagnosis of COVID-19 patients. In this paper, we present feasible solutions for detecting and labeling infected tissues on CT lung images of such patients. Two structurally-different deep learning techniques, SegNet and U-NET, are investigated for semantically segmenting infected tissue regions in CT lung images. We propose to use two known deep learning networks, SegNet and U-NET, for image tissue classification. SegNet is characterized as a scene segmentation network and U-NET as a medical segmentation tool. Both networks were exploited as binary segmentors to discriminate between infected and healthy lung tissue, also as multi-class segmentors to learn the infection type on the lung. Each network is trained using seventy-two data images, validated on ten images, and tested against the left eighteen images. Several statistical scores are calculated for the results and tabulated accordingly. The results show the superior ability of Sas detectors for infected tissue in lung CT scans. The availability of such a method in today's pandemic would help automate, prioritize, fasten, and broaden the treatment of COVID-19 patients globally. To assess the relationship between phase angle and peak torque of knee extensors with the performance in six-minute step test of patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing haemodialysis. Observational and cross-sectional study at Haemodialysis Centre of Sírio-Libanês Hospital. The evaluations took place 3 days before the haemodialysis sessions. On the first day, patients underwent anthropometric evaluation and biochemical tests (lactate, urea, creatinine, albumin, ferritin of reduced peripheral muscle function and exercise tolerance in haemodialysis patients. Phase angle and peak torque of knee extensors were correlated with the performance in six-minute step test. Therefore, the phase angle seems to be an important marker of reduced peripheral muscle function and exercise tolerance in haemodialysis patients. Increased use of the transorbital approach (TOA) warrants greater understanding of the risk of increased intraocular pressure (IOP) and intraorbital pressure (IORP) due to orbital compression. We aimed to investigate the changes in IOP and IORP in response to orbital retraction in TOA and establish a method for the continuous measurement of intraoperative IORP. We assessed nine patients who underwent TOA surgery from January 2017 to December 2019, in addition to five cadavers. IORP and IOP were measured using a cannula needle monitor, tonometer, cuff manometer, and micro strain gauge monitor. In all nine clinical cases and five cadavers, increased physical compression of the orbit increased the IOP and IORP in a curvilinear pattern. In clinical cases, when the orbit was compressed 1.5 cm from the lateral margin in the sagittal plane, the mean IOP and IORP were 25.4 ± 5.2 mmHg and 14 ± 9.2 mmH O, respectively. The IORP satisfactorily reflected the IOP (Pearson correlation coefficient = 0.824, p < 0.001).
