It has been broadly used in QRS (QRS complex of electrocardiogram) detection, electrocardiogram (ECG) beats classification, etc. In this article, we novelly developed RWS to the analysis of QRS morphology as the measurement of ventricular dyssynchrony and tested the hypothesis that RWS could enhance the discrimination between control and acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients. Holter ECG recordings were obtained from the Telemetric and Holter ECG Warehouse database, among which database Normal was extracted as normal controls (n = 202) and database AMI (n = 93) as typical subjects of autonomic nervous system dysfunction and cardiac electrical dyssynchrony with high risk for cardiac arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death. Experimental results demonstrate that RWS measured by Lipschitz exponent calculated from 5-min Holter recordings was significantly less negative in early AMI and late AMI than that in Normal subjects for overall, elderly, and elderly male groups, which suggested the heterogeneous depolarization of the ventricular myocardium during AMI. Receiver operating characteristic curve analyses show that combined with heart rate variability parameters, Lipschitz exponent provides higher accuracy in distinguishing between the patients with AMI and healthy control subjects for overall, elderly, elderly male, and elderly female groups. Blood-brain barrier (BBB) disruption has been noted in animal models of Parkinson's disease (PD) and forms the basis of the vascular hypothesis of neurodegeneration, yet clinical studies are lacking. To determine alterations in BBB integrity in PD, with comparison to cerebrovascular disease. Dynamic contrast enhanced magnetic resonance images were collected from 49 PD patients, 15 control subjects with cerebrovascular disease [control positive (CP)] and 31 healthy control subjects [control negative (CN)], with all groups matched for age. Quantitative maps of the contrast agent transfer coefficient across the BBB ( ) and plasma volume (v ) were produced using Patlak analysis. The anti-diabetic activities of Magnoflorine (MF) were reported, with underlying mechanism unknown. Lysine-specific demethylase 3A (KDM3A) was identified in the renal injuries. In the current study, we investigated the functional role of MF in DN progression with the involvement of KDM3A. We reported that in the animal model of DN induced by streptozotocin (STZ) injection, MF attenuated inflammatory response and fibrosis in the kidneys. In cultured mesangial cells, MF similarly ameliorated abnormal proliferation and lowered the expression of inflammation- and fibrosis-related factors stimulated by high glucose (HG) treatment. Upon MF treatment, there was a decline in KDM3A-positive cells in renal tissues of rats, accompanying an augment in KDM3A ubiquitination. KDM3A upregulation in vitro by a proteasome inhibitor MG132 comparably dampened the inhibitory role of MF in inflammatory response and fibrosis.
