The members of the genus Astragalus have great interest as traditional drugs in several folk systems including Turkey. In this sense, the present paper was aimed to explore the biological properties and chemical profiles of different parts (aerial parts, leaves, flowers, stems, and roots) of A. macrocephalus subsp. finitimus. Antioxidant (radical quenching, reducing power, and metal chelating) and enzyme inhibitory (α-amylase and tyrosinase) effects were investigated for biological properties. Regarding chemical profiles, individual phenolic compounds were detected by LC-MS, as well as total amounts. The leaves extract exhibited the strongest antioxidant abilities when compared with other parts. However, flowers extract had the best metal chelating ability. Hyperoside, apigenin, p-coumaric, and ferulic acids were identified as main compounds in the tested parts. Regarding enzyme inhibitory properties, tyrosinase inhibitory effects varied from IC50 1.02 to 1.41 mg/mL. In addition, the best amylase inhibition effect was observed by leaves (3.36 mg/mL), followed by aerial parts, roots, stems, and flowers. As a result, from multivariate analysis, the tested parts were classified in three cluster. Summing up the results, it can be concluded that A. macrocephalus subsp. finitimus could be a precious source of natural bioactive agents in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and cosmeceutical applications.This work presented a comparison between two Voltage Controlled Oscillators (VCOs) designed in 65 nm CMOS technology. The first architecture based on a Ring Oscillator (RO) was designed using three Current Mode Logic (CML) stages connected in a loop, while the second one was based on an LC-tank resonator. This analysis aimed to choose a VCO architecture able to be integrated into a rad-hard Phase Locked Loop. It had to meet the requirements of the SpaceFibre protocol, which supports frequencies up to 6.25 GHz, for space applications. The full custom schematic and layout designs are shown, and Single Event Effect simulations results, performed with a double exponential current pulses generator, are presented in detail for both VCOs. Although the RO-VCO performances in terms of technology scaling and high-integration density were attractive, the simulations on the process variations demonstrated its inability to generate the target frequency in harsh operating conditions. Instead, the LC-VCO highlighted a lower influence through Process-Voltage-Temperature simulations on the oscillation frequency. Both architectures were biased with a supply voltage of 1.2 V. A popular option is implant-supported restorations. However, implant surfaces can become colonized with polymicrobial biofilms containing Candida species that may compromise peri-implant health. To prevent this, implant components may be treated with a variety of coatings to create surfaces that either repel the attachment of viable microorganisms or kill microorganisms on contact. These coatings may consist of nanoparticles of pure elements (more commonly silver, copper, and zinc), sanitizing agents and disinfectants (quaternary ammonium ions and chlorhexidine), antibiotics (cefalotin, vancomycin, and gentamicin), or antimicrobial peptides (AMPs). The family of basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factors widely exists in plants and plays an essential role in plant growth and development, secondary metabolism as well as responses to environmental changes. However, there is limited information on bHLH genes in D. officinale. In the present study, a total of 98 putative DobHLH genes were identified at the genomic level, which could be classified into 18 clades. Gene structures and conserved motifs in DobHLH genes showed high conservation during their evolution. The conserved amino acids and DNA bindings of DobHLH proteins were predicted, both of which are pivotal for their function. Yet fundamental knowledge regarding its protein expression and localization remains poorly described. Thus, we sought to define whether there was a temporal and cell-specific regulation of β-catenin activities that correlate with distinct cardiac morphological events. Our findings indicate that activated nuclear β-catenin is primarily evident early in gestation. As development proceeds, nuclear β-catenin is down-regulated and becomes restricted to the membrane in a subset of cardiac progenitor cells. After birth, little β-catenin is detected in the heart. The co-expression of β-catenin with its main transcriptional co-factor, Lef1, revealed that Lef1 and β-catenin expression domains do not extensively overlap in the cardiac valves. These data indicate mutually exclusive roles for Lef1 and β-catenin in most cardiac cell types during development. Additionally, these data indicate diverse functions for β-catenin within the nucleus and membrane depending on cell type and gestational timing.
