Of 93 included individuals (mean age 62.6±11years), 52 (56%) had a history of mild symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection. Post-pandemic MoCA decay was worse in seropositive individuals. Cognitive decline was recognized in 11/52 (21%) seropositive and 1/41 (2%) seronegative individuals. In multivariate analyses, the odds for developing cognitive decline were 18.1 times higher among SARS-CoV-2 seropositive individuals (95% confidence interval 1.75-188; p=0.015). https://www.selleckchem.com/products/lenalidomide-s1029.html Exposure-effect models confirmed this association (β = 0.24; 95% confidence interval 0.07-0.41; p=0.006). This study provides evidence of cognitive decline among individuals with mild symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection. The pathogenesis of this complication remains unknown. Further research to improve the Li metal anode is impeded by the lack of understanding in its failure mechanisms at lithium-solid interfaces, in particular, the fundamental atomistic processes responsible for interface failure. Here, using large-scale molecular dynamics simulations, the first atomistic modeling study of lithium stripping and plating on a solid electrolyte is performed by explicitly considering key fundamental atomistic processes and interface atomistic structures. In the simulations, the interface failure initiated with the formation of nano-sized pores, and how interface structures, lithium diffusion, adhesion energy, and applied pressure affect interface failure during Li cycling are observed. By systematically varying the parameters of solid-state lithium cells in the simulations, the parameter space of applied pressures and interfacial adhesion energies that inhibit interface failure during cycling are mapped to guide selection of solid-state cells. This study establishes the atomistic modeling for Li stripping and plating, and predicts optimal solid interfaces and new strategies for the future research and development of solid-state Li-metal batteries. Depression is a risk factor for various conditions, including suicide. Considering the high prevalence of fear of falling in the elderly, its association with depression requires examination. This study investigated the relationship between depressive symptoms and fear of falling and falling-induced daily activity restrictions in Koreans aged 60 years or above. Data from the 2006 to 2018 Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing were used. Depressive symptoms were measured using the 10-item Centre for Epidemiological Studies Depression (CES-D 10) scale. The general characteristics of the study population were analysed using Chi-square tests. The relationship between the dependent and independent variables were investigated using the generalised estimating equation (GEE) model. Of the 2933 study participants, 1086 (37.0%) reported fear of falling but no related restrictions in daily activities, and 399 (13.6%) reported fear of falling plus such restrictions. Compared to individuals without fear of falling, participants with fear of falling but no related activity restriction (odds ratio (OR) 2.08, 95% CI 1.94-2.23) and activity limitations (OR 2.51, 95% CI 2.28-2.75) showed higher likelihoods of depressive symptoms in a stepwise manner after adjustment. Fear of falling and its induced daily activity restrictions were associated with a higher likelihood of depressive symptoms in older adults. The findings infer the need to implement preventive and moderating measures to address fear of falling and its related negative health effects. This study aims to develop a raytracing-based strategy for calculating corneal power from anterior segment optical coherence tomography data and extracting the individual keratometer index, which converts the corneal front surface radius to corneal power. A large OCT dataset (10,218 eyes of 8,430 patients) from the Casia 2 (Tomey, Japan) was post-processed in MATLAB (MathWorks, USA). Radius of curvature, asphericity of the corneal front and back surface, central corneal thickness and pupil size (aperture) were used to trace a bundle of rays through the cornea and derive the best focus plane. Corneal power was calculated with respect to the corneal front vertex plane, and the keratometer index was back-calculated using corneal power and front surface radius. Keratometer index was analysed in a multivariate linear model. The averaged resulting keratometer index was 1.3317±0.0017 with a median of 1.3317 and range from 1.3233 to 1.3390. In a univariate model, only the front surface asphericity affected the apher. Perinatal depression occurs in 12% to 18% of childbearing women. Telehealth is a promising platform for delivering perinatal mental health care, particularly during a pandemic when in-person services have been significantly curtailed. However, there is little research to document the feasibility of telehealth to address perinatal depression. This pilot study evaluated the feasibility and preliminary results of an 8-week facilitated group videoconference intervention. The study enrolled pregnant and postpartum women into an 8-week group mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral intervention, delivered via videoconference platform. Women receiving care at outpatient clinics who either screened positive for perinatal depression symptoms or had risk factors predictive of perinatal depression were invited to participate. Women attended weekly one-hour group sessions using their own electronic device and completed the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) at several time points. Session attendance and survey completion rates were evaluated.
