The purpose of this study was to evaluate the intermediate-term clinical and radiological outcomes for acute, unstable acromioclavicular joint (ACJ) injuries treated with the arthroscopically assisted BiPOD stabilisation technique. Twenty-three patients who sustained acute, unstable ACJ injuries were included in this prospective study. We recorded demographics, injury classification, time to surgery, clinical scores, radiological outcomes and complications; each patient completed a minimum of 2years post-operative observation. Mean follow-up was 26months (range, 24-34). Clinical outcomes scores demonstrated good 2-year results relative Constant score, 97.9/100; ACJ Index, 89.4/100; Subjective Shoulder Value, 92.4/100 and Taft = 11.1/12. Final C-C distance showed a mean of 0.7mm (SD ± 1.8mm) at 2years. Complication rate was 9%. The BiPOD technique shows excellent, reliable intermediate-term results with a favourable complication rate compared to existing techniques; it provides a comprehensive surgical option for the stabilisation of acute ACJ injuries restoring both vertical and horizontal stability. To analyze how K-line is related to change in sagittal cervical curvature and laminoplasty outcomes in patients with cervical ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL). The study retrospectively analyzed 81 patients with OPLL who had undergone posterior cervical single-door laminoplasty and arch plate fixation between June 2011 and June 2017. Fifty-five were K-line positive (K[+]) and 26 were K-line negative (K[-]). Clinical and radiological results were compared between the groups. Patients were followed up for at least 2years. Before the operation, Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) score, visual analogue scale (VAS) score, neck disability index (NDI), and short-form-36 (SF-36) quality of life score did not differ significantly between the groups. Neurological function was improved in both groups after the procedure. At last follow-up, JOA score, VAS score, NDI, SF-36 score, and JOA score improvement rate differed significantly between the groups. Before the operation, at the 3-month and final follow-ups, C2-7 Cobb angle, T1 slope, and C2-7 SVA differed significantly between the groups. The changes were more marked in the K(-) group than in the K(+) group. The incidence of cervical kyphosis differed significantly between the groups (P < 0.05), as well as between patients with lordosis < 7° and those with lordosis ≥ 7°. K-line negativity and lordosis < 7° may predict kyphosis after laminoplasty in patients with OPLL. We therefore set out to determine if there is a similar difference in perioperative outcomes between early and delayed surgery for periprosthetic fractures of the hip and knee through a systematic review and meta-analysis. The aim of this study is to investigate whether or not using a skin incision along Langer's lines, as opposed to a traditional transverse incision, reduces complications. We retrospectively reviewed data on 108 patients who underwent open reduction and internal fixation of mid-shaft clavicle fractures between 2014 and 2018. Either an oblique incision along Langer's lines or a transverse incision was used according to surgeon's preference. A pre-contoured diaphyseal locking plate was used in all cases. We collected data on fracture classification, minor complications (irritation from plate, chest wall numbness, superficial wound infection) and major complications (irritation from plate necessitating metalwork removal, periprosthetic fracture, deep infection, neurovascular injury and non-union). Statistical analysis was performed using multivariant regression analysis and Fisher's exact tests.
