French Door Refrigerator With Ice Maker Review Melding form with function, French-door refrigerators offer stylish double doors that open up to an enormous fridge on the top and a freezer drawer below. Special features like door-to-door dispensers, higher-end ice machines and adjustable flex drawers make them stand out from the crowd. We asked Ladina Schopf - interior designer, architect and founder of LS Projects - for her suggestions on how to pick the right one. We looked at storage capacity, layout and energy efficiency among other factors. GE Profile Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator The name of the series suggests that the GE Profile series is aimed at consumers who want to incorporate cutting-edge technologies into their kitchen. This fridge is loaded with these, from an inside-the-door Keurig K-cup coffee maker to a clever water dispenser. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. Since this refrigerator is a premium, I expect higher quality. This fridge is a good choice, despite the blip. It boasts a spacious freezer compartment, which is quite uncommon in counter-depth French door fridges, and it holds a fair amount of frozen food when compared to similar models. The fridge has 17 shelves and compartments. The refrigerator compartment has 18.5 cubic feet of space, which is roughly on the same as the size of a French door fridge costing this much. It also has a decent sized ice maker that is tucked away in the left door, though it's not the largest I've seen. You can adjust the shelves in both compartments to make a custom storage solution. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS is attractive. Its LED lighting is a nice touch and the inside storage bins feature a third shelf that folds up beneath itself so that you can store items that are tall. The drawers have temperature controls so you can set them to Beverage, Meat or Deli settings. The drawers are easy to shut and open, but I found the textured plastic coatings to be a bit rough on my fingers. The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator includes all the features you would expect from a refrigerator within this price range. This includes Wi-Fi as well as app support, and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app, which is available for iOS and Android devices, lets you control your fridge from anywhere in world, and has a ton of customization options. It also sends you notifications when the door is unlocked as well as when the freezer or fridge requires defrosting, and when the filter has to be changed. It is nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS had Precise Fill which is an option that is available in a few other GE fridges that allow you to preset how many cups of water you'd like to disperse at once. It does offer a countdown feature on the display of the fridge to show how much water you have left, but it's not as useful as Precise Fill. https://marcus-pope.technetbloggers.de/10-easy-steps-to-start-your-own-french-fridge-freezers-uk-business Created to appear like a seamless part of your kitchen Bosch's French-door refrigerator looks seamless and is an eye-catching piece. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also has a vegetable compartment that keeps vegetables and fruits fresher for longer, and dual compressors to preserve food items. The ice maker is one of the most efficient we've ever tested, and it produces a pyramid-shaped form of ice with a low water consumption. This fridge is ideal for a small household or kitchenette that needs an elegant design and top of the best food preservation. This refrigerator was the highest-rated refrigerator in our Refrigerators Test for various reasons. The freezer temperature remained steady at just above 0° Fahrenheit and never changed by more than a fraction, this is crucial to avoid freezer burn. The fridge's fridge section also performed well, reaching the temperature that was set for the initial setting within a matter of hours and keeping that temperature steady throughout the course of our tests. Bosch is known for its premium appliances, so it's no surprise that this counter-depth refrigerator is also a smart appliance with the option to connect to your home Wi-Fi network and Bosch's Home Connect platform. This app allows you to control and monitor the refrigerator remotely using your smartphone or tablet. The fridge is expensive, but it comes with excellent features and functionality for the cost. While the fridge is a fantastic piece of equipment but it's important to be aware of the limitations. It has a limited space for shelves, so you may require some creativity when storing tall items. The shelves are also not spillproof and can easily be damaged or stained by sharp items. It is easy to take out the refrigerator trays however, you must clean them regularly to prevent the growth of mold. If you are considering this refrigerator, be sure to check out our review of the French Door GE Appliances Refrigerator and the Bosch Bottom Freezer Refrigerator. LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator The LG LRFLC2706S is a top counter-depth refrigerator that packs a lot of storage in a compact frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. Inside, the fridge has a standard French-door layout with gallon-sized bins for the doors on each door and two rows of spill-capture shelves and a set sleeker drawers. The upper right shelf can be folded down to give tall items more space. There's also a full-width storage drawer for food items and an internal water dispenser. This refrigerator is equipped with an ice maker making it easy to move the ice when needed. The freezer is designed with thoughtful elements, as well, such as sliding drawers to help you better organize the placement of your items. It comes with a large bin for storing frozen food and a separate bin for ice. Another great feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. You can manage the temperature, lighting and other aspects of your refrigerator from your smartphone. It's a great way to monitor and manage your refrigerator, particularly if you're away from home. The Smart InstaView feature is neat however it doesn't improve the efficiency of the fridge. In fact, it took longer to defrost and chill foods in this fridge than some of the others we test. This could be due to the greater capacity. The other issue we have with the doors of this refrigerator. The handles with a sunken design allow smaller people to open them from the bottom. However taller people will have a hard time closing them without slamming them. It would have been much better if they had front-mounted handle. The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a ideal option for those looking to combine the benefits of a French-door refrigerator's aesthetics with a more efficient layout. Its capacity is superior to counter-depth models, and it cools evenly. It's also a little cheaper than the best counter-depth refrigerator with an ice maker, which can make it a desirable choice. Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator This Frigidaire French door refrigerator is a good option for those looking for a French-door fridge that won't break the budget. It's a basic fridge which may not be as eye-catching like some of its competitors however it has enough features to make a good choice. Its most notable feature is the adjustable temperature drawer, which helps keep foods like meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also comes with a large ice maker and a water dispenser. Another nice feature is the "Chill Drawer" that sits above the two crisper bins. The drawer allows you to divert some of the refrigerator's cooling power directly to this area, meaning you can keep food items that require special attention. You can adjust this feature by using the slider located on the on the outside of the drawer. You can also use this to adjust the general cooling settings for the entire fridge but I've noticed that adjusting the general settings tends be more effective than specific ones. In https://blogfreely.net/clefelbow6/unquestionable-evidence-that-you-need-french-door-integrated-fridge-freezer , the refrigerator's temperatures were fairly constant across the different areas of the refrigerator. The temperatures in the top and bottom of the fridge didn't stray very far from 38 degrees, and the middle of the fridge was within one degree of 36. This is a great performance, but it doesn't quite make it into the top ten in our rankings. This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also connect this fridge to an intelligent thermometer to get more precise measurements of the internal temperature of your fridge. The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's exterior is made of stainless steel with a grey-bodied body which has a "smudge-proof" finish. It wards off streaks and fingerprints better than other stainless steel finishes I've tested.
