French Door Refrigerator With Ice Maker Review French-door fridges combine functionality and form. They have stylish double doors that show an enormous fridge on top, and a freezer drawer beneath. Special features such as through-the-door dispensers, ice machines with higher-end features and adjustable flex drawers make them stand out from the crowd. We sought out experts like Ladina Schopf, interior designer and architect, as well as the founder of LS Projects, for tips on choosing the right model. They looked at storage capacity, layout and energy efficiency among other aspects. GE Profile Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator Like the name suggests, the GE Profile series is targeted at those who want to incorporate cutting-edge technologies in their kitchen. This refrigerator is packed with these, from an inside-the-door Keurig K-cup coffee maker to a sophisticated water dispenser. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. This fridge is expensive, so I expected better. This refrigerator is a good option, despite the slight blip. It features a large freezer compartment that is not common for counter-depth French-door fridges. It also holds a lot of frozen food compared to other models. Inside the fridge, you'll find 17 shelves and compartments. The refrigerator compartment has 18.5 cubic feet of space, which is about the same as the size of a French door fridge that costs this much. It also has an adequate-sized icemaker in the left door, though it's not the biggest I've seen. You can alter the shelves in both compartments to create a custom storage setup for whatever you have to store. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS is also attractive. The LED lighting is a nice addition and the storage bins feature the third shelf, which can fold down to make it possible to store items that are tall. The drawers come with temperature controls that let you set them to Meat, Beverage or Deli settings. The drawers are easy to shut and open however I found the plastic's textured coatings a bit hard on my fingers. The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator is equipped with a full suite of features you'd expect from a fridge in this price range, including Wi-Fi and app support through GE's SmartHQ software. The app, which is available for iOS and Android devices can let you control your fridge from anywhere in world, and offers a ton of customization options. It will also send you notifications when the door is unlocked, when the freezer or fridge requires defrosting, and when the filter has to be changed. It is nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS included Precise fill which is an option that is available in a handful of other GE fridges that allows you to preset how many cups of water you'd like to disperse simultaneously. The fridge shows a countdown to show you how much water remains but it's not as helpful as Precise fill. Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator Designed to look like a seamless piece of your kitchen, Bosch's French-door refrigerator is an eye-catching piece. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also comes with a veggie compartment that helps keep fruits and vegetables fresher longer, and two compressors to ensure the best preservation of food. The ice maker is one of the best we've ever tested and produces pyramid-shaped Ice with low water usage. This refrigerator is ideal for a small household or a kitchenette that wants an elegant design and top of the highest quality food preservation. This fridge was the top-rated refrigerator in our Refrigerators Test for several reasons. The freezer temperatures remained steady at just above 0 degrees Fahrenheit, never moving more than a fraction an inch. This is essential to avoiding freezer burn. The refrigerator section of the fridge also performed well. It reached the temperature it was set within an hour, and remained at that temperature throughout our testing. Bosch is known for its premium appliances and appliances, so it's not a surprise that this counter-depth refrigerator is also a smart appliance, with the option of connecting to your home Wi-Fi network and Bosch's Home Connect platform. https://scott-lausen-2.hubstack.net/the-most-hilarious-complaints-weve-seen-about-french-door-style-fridge-freezer lets you monitor and control your fridge from your smartphone or tablet. The refrigerator is costly and has great features and functions at a fair price. While the fridge is an amazing piece of equipment however, it is important to understand the limitations. It has a limited space for shelves, so you'll require some creativity when storing tall objects. Also the shelves aren't impervious to sprills and could be stained or damaged by sharp objects. The trays are easily removed from the fridge. However, they must be cleaned frequently to stop the growth of mold. If you're thinking about buying this refrigerator, be sure to also read our reviews of the GE Appliances French Door Refrigerator and the Bosch Bottom Freezer Refrigerator. LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator The LG LRFLC2706S is a top counter-depth refrigerator that packs plenty of storage space into a compact frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge is built with a standard French door design, and two rows of shelving with spill-capture and a set of crisper drawers. The top shelf on the right side can be folded in order to create more space for tall items. There's also a full-width drawer to store deli items and an internal water dispenser. One of the nice features of this refrigerator is that its Ice maker is located in the freezer, which makes it easy to move ice into the fridge to use as required. The freezer has thoughtful design elements, too, like sliding drawers to help you better organize the placement of items. It comes with a large bin for storing frozen food, and a separate container for ice. Another great feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. You can control the temperature, lighting, and other aspects of your fridge using your smartphone. https://marcusschofield.livejournal.com/profile 's an easy way to keep track of your fridge and manage it, especially when you're not at home. Although the Smart InstaView is a neat feature, it doesn't improve the overall performance of the refrigerator. In fact, it took longer to defrost and chill food in this refrigerator than some of the others we test. This could be due to its bigger capacity. The other issue we have with the door of this refrigerator. They have sunken handles on the front that allow smaller people to pull them open from the bottom, however they're difficult for taller people to steer shut without slamming them. It would have been better if they had front-mounted handles. The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a good option for those looking to combine the benefits of a French-door refrigerator's aesthetics with an efficient layout. Its capacity is higher than average for counter-depth models and also cools evenly. It's also a little cheaper than the top counter-depth refrigerator with an ice maker, which can make it a desirable choice. Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator This Frigidaire French door refrigerator is a good option for those looking for a French-door fridge that doesn't break the budget. It's a basic refrigerator that may not be as appealing as its rivals however it has enough features to make a an excellent option. Its most important feature is the adjustable temperature drawer that helps keep food items like meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also comes with a huge water and ice maker dispenser. Another nice feature is the "Chill Drawer" that sits above the two crisper bins. This drawer lets you redirect some of your fridge's cooling power to the area so that you can keep food items that require extra attention. You can alter the feature using the slider located on the in the middle of the drawer. You can also use this to set a general cooling level for the entire fridge but I've noticed that adjusting the general settings tends to have a better effect than specific ones. During my tests, I found that the temperatures in the refrigerator were fairly consistent across different parts of the refrigerator. Temperatures in the top and bottom of the fridge didn't vary much from 38 degrees, and even the middle of the fridge was within one degree of 36. This is a great performance, but it doesn't quite make it into the top ten in our rankings. This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. The fridge can be linked with a smart thermostat in order to get more accurate readings on the internal temperature of your fridge. The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's outside is made of stainless steel with a grey body that has a "smudge-proof" finish. It does a great job of repelling fingerprints and streaks even when compared to the glossy stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tried.
