Risankizumab is a novel anti-interleukin 23 humanized antibody developed to treat severe psoriasis. In this paper, we analyze the key information about this new drug and the results of phase 3 clinical trials already present in literature in order measure its safety and effectiveness in every day practice. Risankizumab seems to be one of the best performing drugs in the treatment of psoriasis, with a good safety profile and a dosage regimen less frequent than all other biologic agents, although head-to-head randomized clinical trials with other anti-interleukin treatments will be necessary in order to confirm these preliminary results.A method for the treatment of panniculitis caused by progesterone injection is introduced. Sixteen patients achieved good results. This is a 9-year single center retrospective study. Of all the 5633 patients who received progesterone injection, 16 developed panniculitis at the injection site. Pathological examination confirmed the occurrence of panniculitis. The patient received physical therapy. These treatments are determined by the course of the patient. Compared with patients without panniculitis, patients with panniculitis received more than one injection of progesterone. In 16 patients, symptoms and local signs disappeared completely in 15 patients. One patient did not take physical therapy according to the doctor's advice after the treatment improved. However, 1 month later, the patient went to see the doctor again and received the relevant physical therapy, and still achieved good results. Progesterone injection may lead to panniculitis, which is rare but may cause serious consequences. Physical therapy can be effective.Young people who use drugs have a rising hepatitis C (HCV) incidence in the United States, but they may face barriers to testing and treatment adoption due to stigma. We conducted a cross-sectional study of New York City residents aged 18-29 years who reported non-medical prescription opioid and/or heroin use in the past 30 days. Participants were recruited from the community between 2014-2016 via respondent-driven sampling. Participants completed an in-person structured survey that included questions about HCV testing and treatment and received HCV antibody testing. For non-PWID, median age was 23 years, 73% were male and 39% non-Hispanic White. 20% of PWID and 54% of non-PWID had never been tested for HCV (P less then .001). Years since first injection (aOR 1.16, CI 1.02-1.32, P = .02) and history of substance use treatment (aOR 3.17, CI 1.53-6.61, P = .02) were associated with prior testing among PWID. The seroprevalence of HCV among PWID was 25%, adjusted for sampling weights. Of the 75 who were aware of their HCV-positive status, 53% had received HCV-related medical care, and 28% had initiated treatment. HCV prevalence among young PWID is high, and many have never been tested. Injection experience and treatment engagement is associated with testing. Interventions to increase testing earlier in injection careers, and to improve linkage to HCV treatment, will be critical for young PWID.Although some epidemiological studies have investigated the association between Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection and the development of kidney cancer, the results are far from consistent. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of observational studies to determine the association. PubMed, EMBASE and Cochrane database were searched from 1 January 1975 to 7 January 2020. Study selection, data extraction and bias assessment (using the Newcastle-Ottawa scale) were performed independently by 2 authors. Pooled odds ratios (ORs) with corresponding confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated using a random-effects model. In all, 16 studies (11 cohort studies and 5 case-control studies) involving a total of 391,071 HCV patients and 38,333,839 non-HCV controls were included. The overall analysis showed a 47% higher risk to develop kidney cancer among the patients with HCV infection (pooled OR 1.47; 95% CI 1.14-1.91), despite significant heterogeneity (I2 = 87.6%). The multivariable meta-regression showed that study design, age, sample size and HIV co-infection were significant sources of variance, and totally accounted for 82% of the I2 . The risk of KC in HCV patients was further increased in studies without HCV/HBV- and HCV/HIV- co-infection (pooled OR 1.66; 95%CI 1.23-2.24). Multiple sensitivity analyses did not change the significant association. The present meta-analysis indicated that HCV-infected patients have a significantly higher risk of developing kidney cancer. Our results highlighted the rationale for improved renal surveillance in HCV patients for the early diagnosis of kidney cancer. Further investigations for the mechanisms underlying HCV-induced kidney cancer are warranted.Tampering with nature has been shown to be a strong, and sometimes even the strongest, predictor of the risk perception and acceptance of various technologies and behaviors, including environmental technologies, such as geoengineering. It is therefore helpful to understand what tampering with nature is as a construct, to which factors it relates, and when a technology or behavior is perceived as such. By means of a systematic review, we show that very little systematic research has been conducted on tampering with nature. Because tampering with nature has not yet been clearly defined, no systematic operationalization of tampering with nature has been used in the current literature. We show that tampering with nature is often used interchangeably with other constructs, such as naturalness. Based on the literature, we suggest that tampering with nature is related to and possibly influenced by three other constructs, which are naturalness, morality, and controllability. We discuss the influence of tampering with nature on the acceptance and risk perception of various technologies and behaviors and make suggestions for future research needs in order to better understand this construct.
