The 2023-2024 Korean Professional Basketball Association (KPBA) quarterfinal playoffs will begin today.

This year's six-team playoffs will pit fourth-place Seoul SK against fifth-place Busan KCC, third-place Suwon KT against sixth-place Ulsan Hyundai Mobis, and fourth-place Wonju DB against fifth-place Wonju DB.

The winner of the SK vs. KCC match will meet regular-season No. 1 Wonju DB in the quarterfinals, while the winner of the KT vs. Hyundai Mobis match will meet No. 2 Changwon LG for a spot in the championship game.

The best-of-five series for the quarterfinals and semifinals will be best-of-three, and the championship game will be best-of-seven.

This professional basketball playoffs is attracting attention as the "Choi Jun-yong Derby. Choi Jun-yong, who donned a KCC jersey last May, will face his hometown SK in the quarterfinals in his first season with the club. This season, KCC leads the regular season head-to-head with 4 wins and 2 losses.

Both SK head coach Jeon Hee-cheol and KCC head coach Jeon Chang-jin, who attended the playoff media day today (Feb. 2), predicted a 3-0 victory for their teams.

KT and Hyundai Mobis, who will play the first leg of their quarterfinal matchup on Friday, have a 4-2 advantage in the regular season, with KT holding a 3-0 lead.
