The most commonly encountered pre-operative factors were severe mitral regurgitation and pulmonary artery hypertension, which were observed in 32 (84.2%) and 23 (60.5%) patients, respectively. Other factors that were common to these patients were higher NYHA functional class (class III in 23 [60.5%] and class IV in 9 [23.7%]), prolonged duration of symptoms (20 [52.6%]), and right ventricular dysfunction (moderate in 21 [55.3%] and severe in 7 [18.4%]). Conclusions The outcome of our study suggests that severe mitral regurgitation, pulmonary artery hypertension, high NYHA functional class, LV dysfunction, and prolonged symptoms were the common predisposing factor in patients with peri-operative mortality after isolated MVR.Unicystic ameloblastoma (UA) differs from conventional ameloblastoma by presenting in the younger population with a lower recurrence rate and has a unilocular appearance on radiograph mimicking dentigerous cysts. Among the three variants of UA, the mural variant has a tendency to recur. Here we present a case of mural variant of UA in a pediatric patient treated conservatively with enucleation followed by application of Carnoy's solution to the cystic cavity. The aim of this case report is to emphasize conservative management in the treatment of UA in pediatric patients considering growth and development in children.Hamartomatous polyps are gastrointestinal tumors that may present with small bowel obstruction requiring surgical resection, while others may present earlier as symptomatic anemia prior to becoming an obstructing mass. Video capsule endoscopy has enhanced the early detection of small bowel lesions. However, endoscopic interventions especially for distal small bowel lesions are limited due to long procedure times, technical challenges in achieving depth of insertion, and the requirem
