This study aimed to identify the bioactive compounds of Amphora coffeaeformis extract (ACE) and to determine their potential protective activity against deltamtherin (DEL) insecticide in rats. Six groups of male albino rats were treated for 4 weeks included the control group, ACE-treated group (772 mg/kg b.w.), DEL-exposed group (13.5 mg/kg b.w.), DEL plus ACE-treated group, and the groups treated with ACE for 14 days before or after DEL. At the end of treatment, blood and tissue samples were collected for biochemical assays. The GC-MS identified 18 compounds; most of them are fatty acid methyl ester, and the HPLC identified 8 polyphenols and significant amounts of vitamins A, C, B1, B2, B9, and E. The in vivo results revealed that DEL induced significant alterations in hematological and serum biochemical parameters, oxidative stress markers, proinflammatory cytokines, and NF-κB. ACE protects against DEL toxicity, and the protection was more pronounced in the groups treated with ACE plus DEL or ACE after DEL suggesting that ACE could be used for the prevention or the treatment of DEL toxicity. (III) Non-sintered bricks containing a certain amount of cement increased the pH after filtration. Community illicit drug use was estimated in eleven Turkish cities, using eighteen wastewater treatment plants, representing the metropolitan cities and rural areas with different socio-demographic characteristics. In this study, 24-h composite influent wastewater samples were collected for 1 week per season between March 2019 and December 2019. Heroin, amphetamine, methamphetamine, ecstasy, cocaine, and marijuana were covered as illicit drugs in this study. Solid-phase extraction, LC-MS/MS separation, identification, and quantification were used as the analytical methods. Overall results indicate that both cocaine and MDMA usage increased in all cities on weekends. More specifically, it was observed that the average amount of cocaine use regarding 11 cities was 14.7 mg/1000 person/day, while figures for other substances are as follows 9.5 for amphetamine, 34.5 for methamphetamine, 38.4 for MDMA, 42.2 for heroin, and lastly 5412 mg/1000p/day for marijuana. Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most common type of aggressive lymphoma. This study was designed to compare epigenetic alterations observed in Enhancer of Zeste Homolog 2 (EZH2)-target genes between plasma-derived exosomes and primary tumors in DLBCL patients. Exosomes were isolated from plasma of 21 DLBCL patients and 21 controls. We analyzed the methylation status of the target genes using methylation-specific PCR. We also examined whether the exosomes and the tumor samples contained transcripts of the target genes. We found that CDKN2A and CDKN2B were methylated in both plasma exosomes and primary tumor tissue samples. None of the transcripts were found in the exosomes except CDKN1B which was expressed in 8 (38%) of the exosome samples. This study showed that plasma exosomes might preferably package certain target molecules from primary tumors and the exosomes containing dual methylated DNAs of CDKN2A and CDKN2B, or CDKN1B transcript may contribute to DLBCL pathogenesis. However, the performance of NLR as an early marker of efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) is still understudied. We studied the utility of NLR at baseline (bNLR), before the second dose of immunotherapy (NLR2) and the NLR trend for predicting efficacy outcomes. We included all patients with advanced cancer treated with ICI from June 2013 to April 2019 at La Paz University Hospital, Madrid (Spain). We examined bNLR, NLR2 and NLR trend and explored the association with progression-free survival (PFS) at 6months, median PFS and overall survival (OS). We included 211 patients. PFS and OS were significantly longer in the low bNLR group than in the high bNLR group [HR 0.71 (95% CI 0.60-0.84) and HR 0.66 (95% CI 0.55-0.79), respectively].
