Items were evaluated for importance by participants, who received anonymized feedback in round two. Prior to the consensus meeting, items were categorized according to pre-defined standards, before voting to reach agreement on the CRS. 97 questionnaire items were formed by combining all items found across diverse sources. Of the 272 professionals from 56 countries involved in the initial survey round, 45% opted to participate in round 2. In a subsequent consensus meeting, 24 professionals from 13 countries were present. Among the items selected for the CRS were twelve, incorporating demographic data, bariatric procedure specifics, and data on effectiveness and safety. A crucial initial step toward global bariatric surgery registry harmonization is this CRS. The CRS should be included as a minimum data point in all bariatric registries globally, according to our recommendation. Adoption of CRS methodologies allows for significant international comparisons of bariatric surgeries. Future collaborative efforts will establish unified definitions and measurements for the CRS, integrating quality-of-life metrics determined by a related project. International unification of bariatric surgery registries begins with this CRS, laying the groundwork for future collaborative efforts. The incorporation of the CRS dataset as a foundational element is recommended for all bariatric registries around the globe
