Students with previous experience in online learning system were more satisfied with the online exam compared with those with less experience ( <0.05). The main issues raised by students' satisfaction with the exam were inadequacy of time for the MEQ part, prevention of back tracking in the MCQ part and minor technological issues, whereas those raised by faculty members were increased time required to complete the exam setup and grading compared to the paper-based exam and minor technological issues. A newly introduced, multi-format, online high-stakes exam was implemented successfully to final-year dental students with minor technological issues and good satisfaction by students and staff alike. However, prostate cancer patients report a gap between information needed and information received. The importance of different information sources for treatment decision remains unclear. Thus, using the Comprehensive Model of Health Information (CMIS) framework, we assessed the antecedent factors, information carrier factors, and information-seeking activities in localized prostate cancer patients. Data were collected via semistructured one-on-one, interviews and structured survey. Men with localized prostate cancer were recruited from two urban health-care centers. Following the interview, participants completed a survey about sources that were helpful in learning about prostate cancer treatment and decision-making. The interviews were audio-recorded, transcribed, and subjected to a thematic analysis using NVivo 10. Fifty localized prostate cancer survivors completed the interviews and surveys. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/Decitabine.html Important antecedent factors thatons.A 6-y-old, 3.5-kg, spayed female Toy Poodle was presented with left forelimb lameness of 2-d duration. Two months before the initial presentation, radiography showed osteolysis of the medial epicondyle of the left humerus, and the left forelimb was amputated. Grossly, the articular villi of the elbow joint were markedly thickened, and the articular cartilage surfaces of the distal humerus and proximal radius had partial erosion. Histologically, granulomatous arthritis and osteomyelitis characterized by the presence of abundant macrophages containing numerous fungi were observed. ITS and β-tubulin sequences amplified from the isolate from the specimen were 100% and 99% identical to type strain UTHSC D16-145T of Talaromyces georgiensis, respectively. Canine osteoarthritis caused by T. georgiensis has not been reported previously, to our knowledge. In 2015 the University of Bergen launched the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) Occupational Health in Developing Countries. The objective of this study is to describe the geographic and demographic diversity of the course participants, as well as the course participation activity with emphasis on low- and middle-income country (LMIC) learners. All data on MOOC participation were provided by the MOOC platform FutureLearn. Out of totally 5866 registrants, 72.4% attended from a LMIC geo-location, and 71.9% of the 768 course completers were LMIC residents. Most of the participants were young, well-educated and employed. Most were employed within the health and social sector. The gender distribution was almost equal, except from a higher female non-completer proportion, especially among LMIC participants. The MOOC succeeded in reaching its LMIC target group.Urate oxidase (EC 1.7.3.3) is a key enzyme in the purine metabolism which is applied in the treatment of gout and also, as a diagnostic reagent for uric acid detection. In the current study, the trehalose (TRE) effects as an additive on the structural stability and function of uricase were investigated. For recombinant expression of UOX in E. coli BL21 cells, firstly the coding sequence was subcloned into the pET-28a vector and after induction with IPTG, the recombinant UOX was purified by affinity chromatography using a Ni-NTA agarose column. To specify the trehalose effects on the urate oxidase (UOX) structure, optimum pH, optimum temperature, kinetic and thermodynamic parameters and also, the intrinsic fluorescence of UOX in the absence and presence of trehalose were examined. The UOX half-life is 24.32 min at 40 °C, whereas the UOX-TRE has a higher half-life (32.09 min) at this temperature. Generally, our findings confirm that trehalose has a protective effect on the enzyme structure. Optimum pH and temperature were 9 and 25 °C, respectively for both the naked and treated enzymes and their activity retained 42.18 and 64.80%, respectively after 48 h of incubation at room temperature. Also, theoretical results indicate that the random coil of the enzyme was converted to α-helix and β-sheet in the presence of trehalose which may preserve the integrity of the active site of the enzyme and increased the enzymatic activity. The MD simulation results indicated greater stability of the uricase structure in the presence of trehalose. Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Sarma. The World Health Organization recommends exclusive breastfeeding for every newborn during the first 6 months of life, yet women come across various challenges to continuing it. This systematic review was intended to identify barriers to exclusive breastfeeding among mothers. MEDLINE, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied health literature, ProQuest, Web of Science and Scopus databases were searched from January 1990 to October 2017. The systematic review included quantitative, qualitative and mixed-methods studies to identify barriers to exclusive breastfeeding among mothers of reproductive age with an infant aged between 0 and 12 months. All studies were screened based on titles, abstracts and full text by two reviewers independently. The methodological quality of included studies was assessed using appropriate tools. Of the 9737 eligible records, 44 studies were included for analysis. Classification of barriers to exclusive breastfeeding was adopted from the conceptual framework of factors affecting breastfeeding practices given by Hector and colleagues.
