In all systems, the BCF values of oilseed rape >5. Therefore, intercropping with white lupin may contribute to higher biomass and increased uptake Cd by oilseed rape. We can toward sustainable positive effects on phytoremediation that based on a better understanding of rhizosphere processes.Ecosystem services (ESs) play an important supporting role in the development of human society and the economy. Despite the increasing number of ESs quantitative evaluation studies that have been conducted at different scales, the assessment of ESs flows between different administrative regions, which provides valuable implications for ecological protection and compensation, has drawn little attention. The aim of this study is to fill in this gap by providing a comprehensive ES interregional flow analysis method that evaluates ecosystem service values (ESVs) and quantifies the interregional flows in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD), which is home to one of the largest urban agglomerations in China. The results showed that the total ESV of the YRD increased from 2.02E+12 Chinese Yuan (CNY) in 2000 to 2.33E+12 CNY in 2019, a 15.23% increase rate. All types of ESVs displayed an increasing trend during the 20 years. According to the analysis of interregional ES flows in the YRD, Zhejiang province played a crucial role as a service providing area (SPA) for the spatial value transfer at the provincial level in both 2000 and 2019. Anhui province was the largest service benefitting area (SBA) of water conservation and CSOP, while Jiangsu province was the largest SBA of soil retention. The recognition of interregional ESV flows can provide valuable information for environmental planning and management to help improve China's ecological compensation policies for different administrative divisions. To diversify and decarbonize its energy system, Colombia plans a sizeable increase in wind power by installing onshore wind farms in the Guajira region. While presumably superior to other alternatives in terms of environmental performance, this assumption cannot be tested due to the lack of studies in this region. To assess the potential environmental performance of wind power in Colombia, we conduct a hybrid life cycle assessment of a wind farm of 19.5 MW of installed capacity for various impacts. We include both direct (required on-site) and indirect (required in the supply-chain) services associated with the life cycle of the wind farm for completeness, an unprecedented feature in the LCA literature. The results show that the wind farm is associated with low global warming impacts (12.93 gr CO2 eq/kWh) compared with similar studies, mainly due to high wind speeds. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/ly333531.html Moreover, the inclusion of both direct and indirect services increases the environmental impacts across indicators (with respect to the results without services) from 0% (carcinogenic effects) to 21% (terrestrial eutrophication). Further, sensitivity analysis suggests that the results are highly dependant on the capacity factor, lifespan, and percentage of losses. We conclude that the inclusion of both direct and indirect services is not negligible in the life cycle assessment of wind farms and similar projects, particularly given the substantial services required, such as surveying, legal compliance, etc. Given the difficulty to obtain data on services, we conclude with some recommendations aimed at relevant stakeholders, such as tax benefits and public procurement guidelines. The presence of moderate concentrations of impurities in the nickel-plating baths generates failures on the coated pieces. This situation entails the necessity of replacing the electroplating bath, which implies the generation of large volumes of wastewater with metallic species and high quantity of sludge. For this reason, the adsorption of the principal impurities of nickel-plating baths of an industry was analyzed in this work. Particularly, the removal of Zn2+ was studied in more detail since the presence of this metal in the baths generates black spots on the coated pieces. Different commercial materials were used as adsorbents and Zn2+ adsorption studies were carried out using both standard solutions and industrial water from the nickel-plating baths. All the adsorption tests were performed in batch systems under constant agitation and the quantification of the impurities was made by ICP-MS analysis. The bone char (BC) was an efficient adsorbent for the removal of the principal impurities of nickel-plating baths. The use of molecular simulation tools helped to understand the preferences of the hydroxyapatite (the principal component of bone char) for different metallic ions present in the industrial waters. According to both the experimental adsorption and molecular simulation results, hydroxyl and phosphate groups of bone char are responsible of the adsorption of impurities of nickel-plating baths. Chronic pain is a major public health problem. It affects the quality of life of many patients and their families and compromises physical and social functioning and psychological well-being. Non-pharmacological interventions are increasingly being used as a complement to chronic pain care. One of these interventions is Touch massage (TM) that can provide relaxation, comfort and well-being. In addition to its various physiological functions, TM can be used as a social communication tool. This is a cluster study with an exploratory qualitative part. Two groups will be considered the experimental group will benefit from a TM delivered by trained members of care team and the control group will benefit from an intervention of the same duration with a foot massage device. At least 4 sessions will be delivered and spread over two weeks. Sample size calculation showed that 78 participants (39 per group) need to be included. As for the qualitative part, semi-structured interviews will be conducted to investigate the patients' perception of the intervention; focus groups will explore the satisfaction and general perception of the health care teams. Incorporating TM interventions into care planning could bring benefits in supporting patients suffering from chronic pain. TM is expected to increase the patients' feelings that their pain is seriously considered; physical and psychological support should help improve their sense of comfort and well-being and hence their quality of life. This practice might thus improve the caregiver-patient relationship with TM as a providing a new means of establishing communication through touch.
