In its Thursday statement, Facebook emphasized that media outlets will still be able to share their content on the platform, just as users will be able to share any news articles on their own feeds. Additionally, Facebook reaffirmed its commitment to fact-checking on the site.

"Our commitment to connecting people with reliable information on our platforms is not affected by this. We collaborate with external fact-checkers, certified by accreditation bodies like the non-partisan International Fact-Checking Network, who are responsible for evaluating and rating misinformation that goes viral on our apps," Facebook stated.
