Periotest appliance was used to assess the microscrews stability at day of surgery and 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 30, 60 days later. Each patient received a survey for individual pain assessment (NRS-11) promptly after the implantation. Results The analysis after 60 days revealed significantly higher secondary stability for the laser-irradiated microscrews group in comparison with control implants (G2 group) (p = 0.0037). We observed significantly higher stability in the experimental group compared with the control after 30 days (p = 0.0218). Conclusions Application of a 635 nm laser on peri-implant soft tissue increased the microscrews stability after 30 and 60 days.Objective To explore via systematic review the validation of uneventful post-surgical healing, associated with shorter and longer laser wavelength applications in minor oral surgery procedures. Methods From April 28 to May 11, 2020, PubMed, Cochrane Database of Systemic Reviews, and Google Scholar search engines were applied to identify human clinical trials of photobiomodulation (PBM) therapy in clinical dentistry. The searches were carried out with reference to (1) dental laser wavelengths shorter than 650 nm; (2) wavelengths localized within the 2780-2940 nm; and (3) the 9300-10,600 nm range. Selected articles were further assessed by three independent reviewers for strict compliance with PRISMA guidelines and modified Cochrane Risk of Bias to determine eligibility. Results Using selection filters of randomized clinical trials, moderate/low risk of bias, and the applied period, and following PRISMA guidelines, 25 articles were selected and examined. A risk of bias was completed, where 11 out of 25 publications were classified as low risk of bias, and 14 out of 25 were classified as medium risk status. In total, 6 out of 13 (46% of) studies comparing the examined laser wavelengths with scalpel-based treatment showed positive results, whereas 6 out of 13 (46%) showed no difference, and only 1 out of 13 (7.7%) presented a negative outcome. In addition, 5 out of 6 (83% of) studies comparing the examined laser wavelengths with other diodes (808-980 nm) showed positive results, whereas 1 out of 6 (17%) had negative outcomes. Conclusions A detailed and blinded examination of published studies has been undertaken, applying strict criteria to demonstrate research outcome data, which suggests positive or at worst neutral comparatives when a given laser wavelength system is used against an alternative control therapy. As such, substantiated evidence for laser surgery in delivering uneventful healing and analgesic effects, as an expression of a PBM-like (quasi-PBM) influence, has been shown.In multiple sclerosis, conflicting results have been reported between social impairment and relatively preserved moral judgments, mainly tested with moral dilemmas. Some results even yet suggest signs of "ultra-morality" in these patients. The objective of the present study was to test this hypothesis with the moral/conventional distinction task, investigating the knowledge of social norms and the judgment of moral versus conventional transgressions. In the first condition, the permissibility of social situations was estimated. If the participant judged the situation as wrong, he had to estimate the seriousness of the transgression, to give verbal justifications and to re-estimate the permissibility when the law authorizes the act (generalization condition) and when a social authority recommends the act (dependency condition). Forty-six multiple sclerosis patients matched to healthy controls completed this task. Contrary to our hypotheses, patients showed less permissibility for moral transgressions or a higher seriousness but, unexpectedly, for conventional transgressions. Most importantly, abnormal justifications were observed (strictly moral arguments for conventional transgressions and vice versa). This suggests a lack of distinction between conventional and moral judgment in multiple sclerosis. This confusion may explain the "ultra-morality" sometimes reported, if patients base their judgment mainly on social knowledge and not on emotional processing.Crown gall disease in grapevine is caused by pathogenic strains of Rhizobium vitis with a tumor-inducing (Ti) plasmids. A nonpathogenic strain, VAR03-1 of R. vitis, has been isolated from the grapevine root of nursery stock and it was shown to act as a biological control agent to crown gall disease. Its disease-suppressive effect was observed even when it was coinoculated with the pathogen in a 11 ratio. Here, we present the complete genome data of R. vitis VAR03-1, assembled by sequencing reads obtained by both PacBio and Illumina technologies with annotation. This is an open access article distributed under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 International license.The present study investigated indoor and outdoor concentrations of two particulate matter size fractions (PM10 and PM2.5) and CO2 in 20 urban homes ventilated naturally and located in one congested residential and commercial area in the city of Alexandria, Egypt. The results indicate that the daily mean PM2.5 concentrations measured in the ambient air, living rooms, and kitchens of all sampling sites exceeded the WHO guideline by 100%, 65%, and 95%, respectively. The daily mean outdoor and indoor PM10 levels in all sampling sites were found to exceed the WHO guideline by 100% and 80%, respectively. The indoor PM10 and PM2.5 concentrations were significantly correlated with their corresponding outdoor levels, as natural ventilation through opening doors and windows allowed direct transfer of outdoor airborne particles into the indoor air. Most of the kitchens investigated had higher indoor concentrations of PM2.5 and CO2 than in living rooms. The elevated levels of PM2.5 and CO2 in domestic kitchens were probably related to inadequate ventilation.
