The stroma was myxochondroid or hyaline. By IHC, the tumor cells were positive for CD31(18/18), CD34 (16/18), ERG (18/18) and Fli-1 (18/18); CKpan was focally positive in 5 cases (5/18). TFE3 was positive in 3 cases (3/18), and Ki-67 index ranged from 5% to 30%. FISH analysis showed seventeen cases (17/18) had CAMAT1 rearrangement, one case had TFE3 rearrangement displaying a split signal. Eight patients (8/18) had surgical excision, three patients (3/18) had surgery and chemotherapy, and seven patients (7/18) had chemotherapy only. Four patients (4/18) died of the disease. Conclusions Patients with PEHE have non-specific symptoms, and correct diagnosis depends on pathologic biopsy and the exclusion of other tumors with epithelioid morphology. Some patients with PEHE have poor prognosis, particularly in those who have multiple nodules, peripheral invasion or metastasis. Objective To investigate the clinicopathological and molecular characteristics of pulmonary enteric adenocarcinoma (PEAC). Methods The clinical and pathological data of 19 cases of PEAC in the Affiliated Cancer Hospital of Zhengzhou University were retrospectively collected from 2015 to 2019. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) was used to detect the relevant immunophenotypes, amplification refractory mutation system (ARMS) and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) were used to detect the expression of EGFR, KRAS and ALK genes. The patients were followed up, and the relevant literature was reviewed and analyzed. Results There were 19 cases, including 10 males and 9 females, with a mean age of 58 years (range 33-71 years). Microscopically, the tumors showed moderately to highly differentiated adenoid and/or papillary growth patterns. The tumor cells were highly columnar and sometimes showed pseudostratification. Inflammatory necrosis and scattered nuclear fragmentation were seen in some glandular lumens. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/ms-275.html IHC showed variable expression of CK7 (19/19), TTF1 (8/19), Napsin A (6/19), villin (17/19), CK20 (16/19) and CDX2 (10/19). Molecular testing showed KRAS mutation in nine cases (9/19), EGFR mutation in one case (1/19), and positive ALK split signal in one case (1/19). In the literature, the reported mutation rate of KRAS in PEAC was much higher than that of EGFR and ALK. All 19 cases underwent surgical resection and 11 cases were subjected to chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Conclusions PEAC is a rare variant of invasive pulmonary adenocarcinoma, and has similar histological and cytological features to that of colorectal adenocarcinoma. However, detailed medical history, histologic heterogeneity, an IHC combination of CK7(+)/villin(+) and high KRAS mutation rate are the key points of diagnosis. The prognosis needs long-term follow-up and big data statistics.Abstract Background and Aims During positive energy balance, excess lipid storage in subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT) is associated with increased lipolysis. Elevated circulating fatty acid (FA) concentrations from both SAT lipolysis and dietary fat intake may result in visceral adipose tissue (VAT) accumulation, impairment of glucose metabolism, altogether increasing obesity-associated metabolic risks. We aimed to test the hypothesis that FA composition of red blood cell total phospholipids (RBC-TPL) and SAT is associated with body fat centralisation (VAT/SAT ratio) and insulin sensitivity (SI) in black South African women with obesity. Methods Participants' (n = 41) body fat composition and distribution, SI, and RBC-TPL, abdominal and gluteal SAT (gSAT) FA composition (gas-liquid chromatography) were measured. Results RBC-TPL contained higher proportions of saturated fatty acids (SFAs) than SAT (p less then 0.001), which were associated with lower SI (p less then 0.05). Mono-unsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs) and stearoyl-CoA desaturase-1 (SCD1)-16 were lower, while poly-unsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), and delta-5 and delta-6 desaturase indices were higher in RBC-TPL than SAT (p less then 0.001). Interestingly, FA profiles differed between SAT depots with higher SFAs and lower MUFAs, SCD1-16 and SCD1-18 indices in abdominal compared to gluteal SAT (p less then 0.01). In both SAT depots, higher SFAs and lower PUFAs (n-3 and n-6) correlated with lower VAT/SAT ratio; and lower PUFAs (n-3 and n-6) and higher total MUFA correlated with higher SI. Conclusion Our findings confirm the relationships between the FA composition of RBC-TPL and SAT and metabolic risk in black women with obesity, which are dependent on both the FA class, and the tissue type/blood compartment in which they are distributed. The development of fossil energy resources and the occurrence of geological hazards call for a quick and effective identification of geological situations. In this study, we present rapid evaluations of geological structures from the pure point of view of material properties. For the first time, Ashby plots are applied to the evaluation of geomaterials such as rocks and coals. A series of case studies are presented and related Ashby plots are drawn. The stability of rocks facing natural hazards is analyzed and compared; the stability of coals formed in different periods in China is studied; and a new brittleness index for reservoir rocks is proposed. The Ashby plots show a strong vitality and a wide application prospect in geomaterial evaluation and geological engineering.Atopic dermatitis (AD) is one of the most common skin diseases with inflammation, chronic relapses, and intense pruritus. Its pathogenesis includes genetic susceptibility, an abnormal epidermal lipid barrier, and an increased production of IgE due to immune dysregulation. Recently, AD has been reported to be associated with intestinal inflammation and dysbiosis in human and murine models. Various probiotics are being used to control intestinal dysbiosis and inflammatory reactions. However, it is difficult to predict or determine the therapeutic effects of the probiotics, since it is rare for clinicians to use the probiotics alone to treat AD. It is also difficult to check whether the intestinal inflammation in patients with AD has improved since probiotic treatment. The aim of the present study was to determine whether mice with induced atopic dermatitis had any changes in fecal calprotectin, an indicator of intestinal inflammation, after probiotic administration. Our results showed that the fecal calprotectin levels in mice with induced dermatitis decreased significantly after the administration of probiotics.
