Our work reveals that the Nb-doped TiO2 nanotube array could be a promising candidate with high efficiency and good product selectivity for the photocatalytic CO2 reduction with solar energy. Perception of acoustic details in the speech signal is important for speech sound development. The medial olivocochlear pathway, a part of the auditory efferent system, plays a role in stimulus-related control of the cochlea. One clinical tool to evaluate the medial olivocochlear activity, which is thought to improve speech perception in noise, is the suppression of otoacoustic emissions. This study investigated the suppression of transient evoked otoacoustic emissions in children with phonological disorder in comparison with that in typically developing controls. Case-control study. A total of 23 children with phonological disorder (aged 5-10 years) and 21 age- and sex-matched controls (P > 0.05) participated in the study. Participants had pure-tone thresholds ≤ 15 dB hearing loss and normal middle ear functions. Transient evoked otoacoustic emissions with and without contralateral acoustic stimulation were measured. Although the mean transient evoked otoacoustic emissions suppressions were lower in the group with phonological disorder than in the controls, these differences were not statistically significant (P > 0.05). No left/right ear asymmetry of transient evoked otoacoustic emissions suppression was detected in either of the groups (P > 0.05). Children with phonological disorder did not show alterations in medial olivocochlear functioning in the medial olivocochlear activity as measured by the contralateral suppression of transient evoked otoacoustic emissions. It has potentially life-threatening physical and psychological complications, and many young people with anorexia present to hospital in a seriously compromised physical condition. While their physical symptoms require urgent treatment, addressing their emotional and psychological needs is equally important if they are to progress towards recovery. However, the conflicting thoughts common in anorexia mean that young people often feel highly ambivalent about treatment, which makes the disorder particularly challenging to treat. This article details a literature review undertaken to explore the perceptions and experiences of young people who have received hospital treatment for anorexia, with the aim of offering children's nurses insights into how they can optimally support these patients. The findings demonstrate the importance of listening to young people, treating them as individuals and understanding their experiences, in addition to addressing their physical health needs.Equality and diversity are terms that are used frequently in nursing, healthcare and workplace settings. This article explores what equality and diversity mean in nursing practice, the legal framework that underpins these terms, and the inequalities and discrimination that patients and staff may experience in health and social care settings. It discusses the role of organisational culture in supporting nurses to uphold the values of equality and diversity and encourages nurses to reflect on this topic to enhance their practice. The purpose of this study was to evaluate crestal bone stability around sloped implants using the flapless procedure and compare it with conventional implants placed axially. A total of 40 bone-level implants with platform switching were used for this study for 10 patients (4 males and 6 females) in edentulous mandible. Twenty mesial conventional implants were placed in upright position and 20 distal 30° sloped implants tilted 30°. Bone loss was estimated using radiographic imaging after a 6- and a 12-month follow-up period. Comparison of the bone loss in the distal and mesial region at both implantation angles were conducted to understand the nature and progression of crestal bone loss. Crestal bone loss around the sloped implants was 0.29 mm (SD = 0.292) on average, while around conventional implants it was 0.22 mm (SD = 0.202) after one-year follow-up. However, there was no significant difference in the average of crestal bone loss between two trial groups after 6 months (p < 0.243) and one-year (p < 0.614) follow-up. The results indicated a 100% implant survival rate after one-year follow-up. Additionally, three fixed prostheses needed realignment after fracturing during the follow-up time. Two patients presented with gradually worsening thigh pain, especially during walking. The patients had been using bisphosphonates for 4 and 10 years, respectively. Radiography showed an incomplete fracture in the lateral cortex of the right femur shaft. The lateral bowing angles measured in the affected femurs were 15° and 14°, and the anterior bowing angles were 20° and 16°, respectively. In bone scans, both patients showed hot uptake in the right mid-shaft of the femur. Preoperatively, the affected femur of the patient was reconstructed by 3DP RP using CT, and the plate was bent to the shape of the bone model.
