Therefore, this study highlights a novel double heterojunction system with a facial preparation method, visible light response and good recyclability, which is beneficial for environmental remediation. The genus Parablepharisma Jankowski, 2007 at present includes five species, most of which have not been studied in detail, therefore phylogenetic affinities remained uninvestigated up to now. Parablepharisma is traditionally placed within Heterotrichea based on insufficient existing morphological data, and there are no available Parablepharisma gene sequences in molecular databases to support this placement. This work presents an 18S rDNA-based phylogeny of P. bacteriophora (Kahl, 1932) Jankowski, 2007 and P. brasiliensis sp. nov. We also provide a redescription of P. bacteriophora and P. chlamydophorum (Kahl, 1932) Jankowski, 2007 based on live morphological observations combined with silver impregnation and scanning and transmission electron microscopy. According to characters such as macro- and micronucleus number, the position of the ectosymbiotic bacteria, and the presence/absence of caudal cilia, two new species are described, i.e. P. granulata sp. nov. and P. brasiliensis sp. nov. In addition, we establish Kahlium gen. nov. to include P. chlamydophorum, which has a segmented anterior paroral portion and a twisted posterior paroral section as diagnostic features. To include Parablepharisma and Kahlium gen. nov., we propose Parablepharismidae fam. nov. According to our phylogenetic analyses, Parablepharisma belongs to SAL (Spirotrichea, Armophorea, Litostomatea), being a sister group of Cariacotrichea. OBJECTIVES At the time of controversies on surgical treatment of pelvic organ prolapse, our aim was to describe an effective technique of hysterocolpectomy with colpocleisis for elderly patients not wishing to maintain vaginal sexual activity and present mid-term results including pelvic floor symptoms and quality of life, patient satisfaction and surgical complications using validated scores. STUDY DESIGN We conducted a retrospective study of all patients having undergone this surgery between June 2006 and June 2016. Women were examined using POP-Q classification and completed validated questionnaires concerning symptoms and quality of life before and after the surgery. Patient satisfaction was assessed using the PGI-I. Complications were described according to the Clavien-Dindo classification. RESULTS During the 10-year period, 37 women underwent the surgery with a mean age at surgery of 81.2 years (range 61-93 years). One per-operative complication occurred (a rectal wound that was sutured) and five Clavien-Dindo grade 3b postoperative complications. Three repeat operations were necessary within 15 days; one suburethral sling had to be lowered because of urinary retention; one tension-free vaginal tape had to be unilaterally sectioned for acute urinary retention; and one woman presented a pararectal abscess requiring surgical drainage. The mean duration of hospitalization was 5.5 (+/-4.2) days. The mean follow-up time was 44.1 (±30.1) months. All symptoms and quality of life scores decreased significantly after the surgery and patient satisfaction was good (PGI-I score = 1.55 +/-0.8). CONCLUSIONS Hysterocolpectomy with colpocleisis appears to be an effective treatment with a high level of patient satisfaction among the elderly. Cardiac bi-ventricle segmentation (BVS) is an essential task for assessing cardiac indices, such as the ejection fraction and volume of the left ventricle (LV) and right ventricle (RV). However, BVS is extremely challenging due to the high variability of the bi-ventricle structure and lack of labeled data. In this paper, we propose a pyramid feature adaptation based semi-supervised method (PABVS) for cardiac bi-ventricle segmentation. The PABVS first extracts the multiscale pyramid features of bi-ventricle structure to cope with the high variability of bi-ventricle structure. Then, a weighted pyramid feature adaptation strategy is proposed to ensure a smooth feature space among labeled data and unlabeled data. In particular, the PABVS performs weighted feature adaptation at each level of a multiscale pyramid feature based on adversarial learning. It gives less importance to outlier feature layers of labeled data and more importance to representative layers. The experimental results on magnetic resonance images show that our proposed PABVS can achieve Dice values 0.915 for EpiLV with 40% labeled data and the Dice values 0.976 for EpiLV with all labeled data, which outperforms mainstream semi-supervised methods. The lymphatic system, which is implicated in fat absorption, might play a major role in the phenotype and development of these pathologies. In this study, two mice animal models were used the high-fat diet model used for obesity and the activity-based anorexia model for anorexia. Lymphatic system marker levels were measured by reverse transcriptase quantitative polymerase chain reaction on the different parts of the intestine. Moreover, the effects of these models were evaluated on lymphatic fat absorption using lipidic tracer. Using these two models, lymphatic system alterations were observed. Indeed, whether in the obesity or the anorectic model, lymphatic fat absorption modifications were noticed with an increase of this parameter in the anorectic mice and a decrease in obesity. Expression levels of lymphatic markers also were impaired in these models. Both obesity and anorectic models induced lymphatic system alterations mainly in the jejunum and ileum parts of the intestine. These alterations are associated with lipid absorption modifications. OBJECTIVES Dietary interventions in irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) include a traditional IBS diet following the guidelines from the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence and a diet low in fermentable oligo-, di-, monosaccharides and polyols (FODMAPs). The aim of this study was to evaluate the adherence to these diets, food groups difficult to replace, and dietary determinants of symptom improvement. METHODS Sixty-six patients with IBS were randomized to a 4-wk low FODMAP or traditional IBS diet. Participants completed 4-d diet diaries before and during the intervention and reported symptoms on the IBS severity scoring system. We described adherence to the diets on the food group and product level and investigated the association between adherence and symptom improvement. RESULTS Adherence to the low FODMAP diet was good and consistent All participants had a comparable shift in the diet's principal components compatible with the guidelines. Most high FODMAP products were well replaced with low FODMAP equivalents.
