It can take a lot of time to gather the materials needed to upgrade an item but the rewards are worth it. An upgrade to a gear requires a certain amount of Power Dices, Minerals and Erons to complete. Power Dices are dropped by monsters in levels 21+ zones. They can be acquired through the scavenging system, or purchased from the NPCs that upgrade items. Minerals and Erons can be obtained by crafting, or purchased from the item upgrader NPCs. The upgrade process will also take away any previous upgrades. However, the resultant items can still be used. A player can reroll upgrades when they reach the number they need to obtain different bonus stats. This is not a guaranteed process, but it reduces the chance of spending money or resources on an unsatisfactory set. The upgrader for items NPC is located in Central Flarine. The upgrade pity, introduced as part of the 2.6.0 gear overhaul, reduces the huge variance in upgrading luck. This means players will have a higher chance of receiving the item they want to evolve by spinning the Pokestop. Rerolling an upgrade is done by interacting with the upgraded item and pressing the green button with the arrows that circle.
