This study aimed to assess the clinical practice for long-term follow-up (FU) of neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction (NLUTD) due to spinal cord injury (SCI) in Italy and compare this practice with the clinical practice in other countries and with the international guidelines. Data concerning the long-term urological FU of individuals with SCI were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed by means of descriptive and inferential statistics. Twenty-one Italian centers following SCI patients. One physician at each center (either a permanent staff member or chief). Questions addressed the treatment of urinary tract infections (UTI), frequency of visits, urinary tract imaging examinations and urodynamic tests (UD), distinguishing between suprasacral and sacral SCI. Nineteen out of 21 centers completed the survey. In most centers, patients were recommended to undergo a visit and an ultrasound examination of urinary tract (UT) at least once a year. Utilizing a survey design, we examined relationships among resilience, clinical syndromes, death attitudes, and religion. Mexican university students (N = 161) answered a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Global Post-Traumatic Stress Scale, the Millon Multiaxial Inventory, the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale, and the Death Attitudes Profile. Pearson correlation analyses showed that resilience correlated inversely with clinical syndromes and fear of death and positively with approach acceptance. Religion entailed higher death attitudes and resilience. Regression analysis revealed that lower anxiety, alcohol use, persistent depression, and higher delusion and death approach acceptance explained resilience.To explore the clinical features, imaging findings, and pathological manifestations of ovarian Sertoli-Leydig cell tumors (SLCTs). The clinical and pathological manifestations, tumor location, size, morphology, vascularity, computed tomography (CT) density, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) signal intensity, and contrast enhancement patterns in five cases with SLCTs were retrospectively reviewed. SLCTs most commonly occurred in young women. Virilization was observed in three cases (60%). All five tumors were unilateral and oval or round, with a clear boundary. The solid part of the tumor was isoattenuated on the conventional CT scan, and showed isoattenuation or slight hypoattenuation relative to adjacent myometrium on T1 weighted imaging (T1WI) and T2 weighted imaging (T2WI). On contrast-enhanced images, three tumors showed marked enhancement. DICER1 hotspot mutations were commonly seen in SLCTs. This study was designed to investigate the organelle source and biological activity of ROS in the context of TREM2-mediated immune defense during E.coli infection. Bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDMs) were transfected with TREM2-overexpressing adenoviruses or control viruses, and challenged with E.coli. The BMDMs were administered to mouse models with local E.coli infection. Additionally, monocytic TREM2 expression, NOX2 levels and pyroptosis were detected in patients with bacterial sepsis. General ROS production was found to be comparable between TREM2-overexpressing and control BMDMs upon E.coli challenge. The deficiency of Nox2 led to impaired phagosome degradation and lack of bactericidal ability and abolished TREM2-mediated protective activity against pulmonary E.coli infection. Our data suggest that TREM2 is a promising candidate target for sepsis therapy.The present research aims to determine whether girls' higher academic achievement, which should grant them a higher academic status than boys, could prevent them from experiencing social-identity threat on this dimension. Because they fear situations questioning their superiority, we argue that an unfavorable intergroup comparison would be more threatening for the high-status, rather than low-status, group on the dimension of academic achievement. Two studies were conducted, respectively, in high school, where girls should represent the high-status group (Study 1), and middle school, where students might perceive their own group as the high-status group (Study 2). Although both middle-school and high-school students perceived girls as the high-status group, they appraised the outgroup superiority differently. Indeed, it had more impact on girls' perceived threat and boys' perceived challenge in high school (Study 1), but not in middle school (Study 2). The results, however, did not show significant impact of context on performance.
