Breast metastases from extra-mammary neoplasms are rare, accounting for less than 2% of breast cancer cases. A 43-year-old female patient presented with a mass in her left breast and swelling in her left axillary region. A histopathological examination of the mass showed enlarged polygonal tumor cells with scant to moderate, eosinophilic to amphophilic cytoplasm and enlarged, hyperchromatic and pleomorphic nuclei with irregular nuclear membranes. An immunohistochemistry (IHC) examination was positive for pan cytokeratin and negative for CK7, CK20, S-100, LCA, HMB45, CD 20, desmin, myogenin, GCFDP-15, transcription factor-1, villin, estrogen receptor, progesterone receptor, and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2. As she was a known case of nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and based on the histopathology ndings and IHC profile, the patient was diagnosed with breast metastasis from NPC. The patient was deceased 3 months after refusing the recommended medical intervention. The current research aims to study the impact of raising tobacco tax and implementation of plain packaging on male smokers' quitting intentions in Saudi Arabia. The study adopts a quantitative approach where close-ended questionnaires are distributed among 1,015 male participants from different regions of Riyadh city, Saudi Arabia. Bivariate analysis and logistic regression analysis are conducted using SPSS software to analyze the collected primary data. The study found a significant association of taxation and plain packaging on the quitting intentions of smokers. On taxation, while a considerable number of participants (46.5%) statedthat they would not quit smoking if the cigarette prices increased, participants who were planning to give up smoking said it would strengthen their intention (p less than0.001). In addition, logistic regression was performed to identify the independent predictors of quitting intention. Participants who did not want to apply the concept of plain packaging to Saudi Arabia were more likely to have quitting intention (odds ratio 2.30 [1.61-3.28]) in comparison to those who wanted to apply the concept. Although the current price of cigarette packs reported to be very high by the participants, imposing a new higher tax may motivate smokers who had plans to quit in the near future. Plain packaging seems to be an effective new strategy in addition to tobacco taxation in Saudi Arabia, yet, more time and further research are required to assess the effectiveness of the strategy. To determine the prevalence of positive screening of body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) among patients seeking cosmetic surgeries in plastic surgery and oculoplastic surgery clinics. The survey of this cross-sectional study was self-administrated and distributed among adults pursuing cosmetic surgeries in plastic surgery and oculoplastic surgery clinics at King Abdulaziz University Hospital, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, between March 2019 and March 2020. The BDD questionnaire was validated, and a highly sensitive and specific tool was used to identify patients with BDD.Ethical approval was granted by the Research Ethics Committee. All analytic studies were performed using IBM SPSS, version 24.Results A total of 344 patients participated in this study with a mean age of 39.66 ± 13.76 years. Of these, 296 (86%) were women and 298 (86.6%) were Saudi. The prevalence of positive screening for BDD was 19.2%. The most commonly requested procedures were abdominoplasty (21.2%) and skin lesion removal (21.2%). Smoking was found to be significantly associated with BDD with 21.2% of smokers having it (p less than0.010). Body dysmorphic disorder was unrecognized among patients pursuing cosmetic surgeries. One-fifth of patients requesting cosmetic procedures are potential cases of BDD requiring psychiatric evaluation and treatment. We recommend implementing screening protocols to identify cases before surgical plans. Body dysmorphic disorder was unrecognized among patients pursuing cosmetic surgeries. To identify the magnitude of opioid use disorder (OUD) among sickle cell disease (SCD) patients; emphasize on multidisciplinary team (MDT) role; estimate cost-effectiveness following the proper use of therapeutic guidelines; and facilitate the reduction of emergency room (ER) visits and the length of stay (LOS). This retrospective cohort study included SCD patients aged 14 years and above, whohave OUD. Data was collected between January 2016 and December 2018. Data included ER visits, hospital LOS, opioid consumption, and narcotic prescription tracking. The target group was followed with a set of interventions for pain management and healthcare resource utilization. Results Twenty one SCD patients were identified with OUD. Following the interventions, there was a statistically significant decrease in ER visits of these OUD patients (from 8709 visits in 2016 to only 94 in 2018). https://www.selleckchem.com/products/lenalidomide-s1029.html Morphine consumption decreased by 82% and meperidine by 60%, over the 3-year period. Moreover, there was a huge reduction in both ER and LOS costs for this cohort of patients. Establishing an MDT and a series of interventions for SCD patients with OUD, including educational activities for caregivers and patients; establishing a palliative/pain clinic and a SCD addiction clinic; and implementing an adequate opioid prescription tracking system resulted in a significant reduction in both the cost and number of ER visits and hospital LOS and dramatically decreased opioid consumption.
