To determine the impact of the first COVID-19 surge (March through June 2020) on mental well-being and associated risk factors among intensive care unit nurses. In September 2020, a nationwide cross-sectional survey study among Dutch intensive care nurses was carried out to measure prevalence rates of symptoms of anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress disorder, and need for recovery (NFR), objectified by the HADS-A, HADS-D, IES-6 and NFR questionnaires, respectively. Associated risk factors were determined using multivariate logistic regression analyses. Symptoms of anxiety, depression, and post traumatic stress disorder were reported by 27.0%, 18.6% and 22.2% of the 726 respondents, respectively. The NFR was positive, meaning not being recovered from work, in 41.7%. Working in an academic hospital, being afraid of infecting relatives and experiencing insufficient numbers of colleagues were associated with more mental symptoms, while having been on holiday was associated with reduced depression symptoms and need for recovery. In France, the cystic fibrosis (CF) care pathway is performed in 45 CF centers, the life expectancy of patients has steadily increased, but to date there are no national recommendations for the transition from pediatric to adult care. The transition to an adult CF center still raises questions about the relevance of its organizational arrangements. The "SAFETIM need" study aimed to identify the organizational needs both of patients and of parents before the transfer to an adult CF center. This was a prospective, observational, multicenter study conducted between July 2017 and December 2018, involving the three CF centers of a regional network in southeastern France. Each adolescent registered with the center and his or her parents were interviewed individually, on the same day, during the 6 months leading up to transfer. They participated in semi-structured interviews during one of their routine consultations at the CF center. The interview manual, based on literature reviews and targeting national recommvers need to develop specific skills in adolescent and young adult care and follow-up. Each team must consider the transition as a normal part of the patient care cycle. While it must be structured, some flexibility must be allowed so as to give everyone the chance to be prepared and to personalize the care. The "SAFETIM needs" pre-transfer study results show that we can identify the main criteria to be developed and strengthened, to promote a smooth, high-quality transition from pediatric to adult CF care for patients in France. Not surprisingly, there is now a growing interest on the possible means to preserve fertility to ensure future childbearing. In this study, we report on five women with peritoneal surface malignancies who performed ovarian hyper-stimulation and oocytes cryostorage prior to undergo CRS and HIPEC. The presence of the disease complicated follicular growth monitoring but the oocytes retrievals could be always performed and were uneventful. At last follow-up, all women were alive and disease-free. None has yet returned to thaw her oocytes. Overall, these cases suggest that oocytes cryopreservation before CRS and HIPEC should be considered.Periarticular osseous defects pose a challenge when considering arthrodesis. While utilizing coherent plane wave compounding enhances echo and shear wave motion signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), it also reduces the effective pulse repetition frequency (PRFe), affecting the accuracy of the measurements of motion and, consequently, of material properties. It is important to maintain both high-motion SNR and PRFe, particularly for the characterization of (material and/or geometrical) dispersive tissues such as arteries. This work proposes a method for SWE measurements with high SNR, while maintaining a high PRFe, using conventional clinical ultrasound scanners. A time alignment process is applied after acquiring data from plane wave transmissions at different angles. The time alignment uses interpolation to obtain data points at higher frame rates, and the time-aligned data are compounded to increase the SNR. The method is used for SWE in tissue-mimicking phantoms of different stiffness and is compared with traditional plane wave compounding.
