Lanthanum orthoantimonate was synthesized using a solid-state synthesis method. To enhance the possible protonic conductivity, samples with the addition of 1 mol % Ca in La-site were also prepared. The structure was studied by the means of X-ray diffraction, which showed that both specimens were single phase. The materials crystallized in the space group P21 /n. Dilatometry revealed that the material expanded non-linearly with the temperature. The nature of this deviation is unknown; however, the calculated linear fraction thermal expansion coefficient was 9.56×10-6  K-1 . Electrical properties studies showed that the material is a proton conductor in oxidizing conditions, which was confirmed both by temperature studies in wet in dry air, but also by the H/D isotope exchange experiment. The conductivity was rather modest, peaking at the order of 10-6  S cm-1 at 800 °C, but this could be further improved by microstructure and doping optimization. This is the first time protonic conductivity in lanthanum orthoantimonates is reported.Leishmaniasis is a major vector-borne parasitic disease that affects thousands of people in tropical and subtropical developing countries. In 2019 alone, it killed 26,000-65,000 individuals. Leishmaniasis is curable, yet its eradication and elimination are hampered by major hurdles, such as the availability of only a handful of clinical toxic drugs and the emergence of pathogenic resistance against them. This underscores the imperative need for new and effective antileishmanial drugs. In search for such agents, we synthesized and evaluated the in vitro antileishmanial potential of a small library of benzothiadiazine derivatives by assessing their activity against the promastigotes of three strains of Leishmania and toxicity in healthy cells. The derivatives were found to have no toxicity to the mammalian cells and were, in general, active against all parasites. The benzothiadiazine derivative 1e, 3-methyl-2-[3-(trifluoromethyl)benzyl]-2H-benzo[e][1,2,4]thiadiazine 1,1-dioxide, was found to be the most active (IC50 , 0.2 μM) against Leishmania major, responsible for the most prevalent disease form, cutaneous leishmaniasis. Conversely, benzothiadiazine 2c, 2-(4-bromobenzyl)-3-phenyl-2H-benzo[e][1,2,4]thiadiazine 1,1-dioxide, was the most potent (IC50 , 6.5 μM) against Leishmania donovani, a causative strain of the lethal visceral leishmaniasis. Taken together, these results suggest that GRP78 should interact with preS2 via the ATPase domain and modulate both the HBV infectivity and HBV antigen secretion.This study conducted two meta-analyses to synthesize the association between children's language skills and two broad-band dimensions of psychopathology internalizing and externalizing. Pooled estimates across 139 samples (externalizing k = 105; internalizing k = 90) and 147,305 participants (age range 2-17 years old; mean % males 53.75; mean % White participants 55.59; mean % minority participants 43.12) indicated small but significant associations between child language skills and externalizing problems (Hedges' g = .22) and between language skills and internalizing problems (Hedges' g = .23). The association between language difficulties and externalizing problems was stronger amongst males and in children with low versus high sociodemographic risk. The widespread phenomenon of multiple paternity may have attending relationships with such evolutionary processes as sexual selection and kin selection. However, just how much multiple paternity should a species exhibit? We developed Bayesian null models of how multiple paternity relates to brood sizes. For each of 114 species with published data on brood sizes and numbers of sires, we compared our null model estimates to published frequencies of multiple paternity. The majority of species fell close to our null model, especially among fish and invertebrate species. Some species, however, had low probabilities of multiple paternity, far from the predictions of the null model, likely due to sexual selection and environmental constraints. We suggest a major division among species' mating systems between those with close to random mating and high levels of multiple paternity, and those with constraints that produce low levels of multiple paternity. To explore inpatient staff's understanding and implementation of positive risk management. Risk management is an essential skill for staff working in acute mental health inpatient settings. National policies advocate the use of positive risk management as a form of collaborative, recovery-focused risk management. However, little is known about how staff understand, operationalize, and use positive risk management in practice. Qualitative reflexive thematic analysis study. The authors recruited a purposive sample of healthcare professionals working in acute inpatient settings (N=16) in 2019 across three National Health Service Trusts in the North-West of England. Participants completed semi-structured interviews which were analysed using reflexive thematic analysis. The analysis generated three themes (a) within staff barriers; (b) within service user barriers; and (c) delivery in practice. Understanding and implementation of positive risk management was dependant on multiple factors, including staffs' beliefs about mental health, levels of worry and anxiety, and amount of experience and seniority.
