Level of less than 5% was considered statistically significant. RESULTS In 6 patients ANA and in 4 patients (2%) ASMA was positive,1 patient was ASMA positive but ANA negative. None of the patients were Anti LKM-1 positive. 3 patients had positive ANA and ASMA, and increased liver echogenicity on ultrasound simultaneously. Histological evaluation was showed that 2 patients had findings in favor of autoimmune hepatitis. CONCLUSION Auto antibodies were positive in 10 cases. ANA was positive in 6 (2.97%) of all cases. ASMA was positive in 4 (1.98%) cases. Increased echogenicity was found in 3 cases. Histological evaluation showed 2 patients had biopsy confirmed autoimmune hepatitis. AIH-2 was not seen among our cases.BACKGROUND Difficult biliary cannulation is a risk factor for post-ERCP pancreatitis. In these cases, precutting is the most used technique. OBJECTIVE To demonstrate that precut fistulotomy is safe and effective. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/Sunitinib-Malate-(Sutent).html MATERIALS AND METHODS Data from May 2016 to May 2018 were reviewed. Difficult cannulation was defined as impacted lithiasis, inadvertent cannulation of the pancreatic duct on three occasions and inability to achieve deep biliary cannulation in 3 minutes. The outcome measures were successful biliary cannulation and post-ERCP Pancreatitis. RESULTS Precut fistulotomy was performed in 96 cases (67 women, 29 men). The success rate of biliary cannulation was 95.8% (92/96). Eighty patients had risk factors for post-ERCP pancreatitis 29 had 1 risk factor, 26 had 2 risk factors, 19 had 3 risk factors, and 6 had four risk factors. Ampullary risk factors of difficult cannulation impacted stone in the papilla 9 cases, papilla bulging 10 cases, lower location of the hole papillary 38 cases, partial location of the papillary pore 23 and papillary orifice stenosis 16 cases. Ten patients had periampullary diverticulum, 7 patients had normal bile duct. None of the patients experienced Pancreatitis. Three patients had early bleeding, one patient had late bleeding. One patient (2%) had a fever and was hospitalized. CONCLUSIONS In cases of difficult biliary cannulation, the precut fistulotomy is safe and effective.OBJECTIVE To study the clinical and endoscopic features of chronic hemorrhagic proctitis by radiotherapy in the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases of Peru. MATERIALS AND METHODS The study was descriptive, retrospective and longitudinal, with a population of 588 patients with this pathology, in the period 2011-2013, from which 114 patients were selected by randomized probabilistic sampling. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used for the analysis of qualitative and quantitative variables. RESULTS The main results were a latency period of 439.96 days; the severity of clinical rectal bleeding was grade 2 and 3 in 86.84%, the mean hemoglobin in chronic hemorrhagic proctitis by radiotherapy was 11.63 g / dl, the endoscopic findings were moderate severity in 58.77%, extension rectal only in 92.11%, slight friability of 43.86%, compromise less than 33% of the rectal surface in 71.93% and an average length of 7.28 cm. The inflammatory findings were 0.88% scars, erosions of 0.88%, ulcers of 7%, fistula of 0.88% and 3.51% of rectal stenosis, single or combined argon plasma coagulation (APC) treatment was offered in 96% of cases. CONCLUSION Chronic hemorrhagic proctitis is an important complication of pelvic radiotherapy, with characteristic clinical and endoscopic findings.INTRODUCTION AND AIM Functional abdominal pain (FAP) is one of the major gastrointestinal complaints in childhood. Studies have reported occult constipation (OC) as one of the leading causes of abdominal pain. Recent researches have proposed laxatives as potent therapeutic targets for abdominal pain in patients with OC. However, no study has compared effect of poly ethylene glycol (PEG) and lactulose on occult constipation. MATERIALS AND METHODS 51 patients aged 4 to 18 years with abdominal pain who had OC (defined as fecal impaction in abdominal X ray) were studied. Demographic and clinical data including age, sex, body weight, height, abdominal pain duration, abdominal pain rate and fecal odor were registered. They were randomly assigned to receive PEG (1gr/kg) or Lactulose (1cc/kg) for at least two weeks. All patients were reevaluated by pain measurement scale after at least two weeks of treatment. RESULTS It is indicated that the efficacy of PEG for reducing abdominal pain in OC was 48% while it was 37% for Lactulose. This study indicated that this efficacy is not affected significantly by sex and fecal odor, however this efficacy is influenced by age, body weight, abdominal pain duration and abdominal pain rate for both PEG and Lactulose. CONCLUSION It could be concluded that PEG is a more efficient drug for treating abdominal pain in occult constipation than Lactulose and its optimum effect can be achieved in elder patients with more severe abdominal pain.Epstein Barr Virus (EBV) is responsible of 10% of Gastric Cancer (GC), correlating with better survival rates. In Peru, there were not studies about prevalence and clinical characteristics of CG EBV positive. OBJECTIVE Determine prevalence and clinicopathological characteristics of GC EBV positive. MATERIALS AND METHODS 111 GC tumour samples were centrally screened by Chromogenic in situ hybridization (CISH) technique for EBV-encoded RNA (EBER) transcript. RESULTS 8.4% of cases were positive for EBV. Most cases EBV positive were more than 60 years old; male, antrum/pylorus had more frequent localizations. Most cases had an intestinal type and tubular patter and a tendency to better prognostic in comparison EBV negative cases. CONCLUSION EBV positive GC is an entity with a prevalence of 8.4% in Peru with distinctive clinical and morphological characteristics.BACKGROUND Surgical treatment methods for patients with complex coronary artery disease (CAD) who have undergone vascular reconstruction mainly include coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). The purpose of the study aimed to compare a 1-year follow-up for the patient clinical outcomes and costs between PCI and CABG treatment. MATERIAL AND METHODS There were 840 patients enrolled in this study from July 2015 to September 2016. Among the study participants, 420 patients underwent PCI treatment and 420 patients underwent off-pump CABG. Patients costs were assessed from the perspective of the China healthcare and medical insurance system. EuroQOL 5-dimension 3 levels (EQ-5D-3L) questionnaire was used to evaluate the general health status, and the Seattle Angina Questionnaire (SAQ) was used to assess the disease-specific health status. RESULTS After a 1-year follow-up, the all-cause mortality (P=0.0337), the incidence of major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events (P less then 0.
