The spread of KPC-producing Enterobacteriaceae has triggered a global public health concern, with KPC-2-positive strains being the most prevalent in China. We hereby studied the in vitro combined inhibitory activities of three kinds of β-lactam antibiotics and clavulanic acid at different concentrations against -positive to explore the antimicrobial characteristics of these combinations and alternative therapeutic regimens for infections caused by -positive strains. In this study, 153 clinically isolated -positive from 19 provinces in China were collected from 2016 to 2018. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing of imipenem/clavulanic acid, meropenem/clavulanic acid, ceftazidime/clavulanic acid, and each antimicrobial agent alone was performed by broth microdilution technique according to the CLSI guidelines. The concentration ratios of β-lactam antibiotics to clavulanic acid were as follows 11, 12, 14, 18, 116, 132. The antimicrobial susceptibility of the combinations was determined acatios against blaKPC-2-positive K. pneumoniae may offer a new way to optimize the effects of these antimicrobial regimens. A coronavirus pandemic has reached all over the world. It is a highly contagious virus spreading from human to human by respiratory droplet infection and close contact. Applying preventive measures is very important in tackling the spread of the disease since there is no curative antiviral drug. The pandemic of the virus has impacted different institutions including the university. To overcome the impact, students are resuming face to face education by applying preventive measures of Covid-19. This study is undertaken to assess KAP in Mizan Tepi University, 2020. A cross-sectional study was conducted among 402 randomly selected participants. A structured questionnaire was used to collect the data from December 1-10/2020. Data were entered into Epidata 3.1 and exported to SPSS version 21 for analysis. Bivariate and multivariate logistic regressions were used for analyses. A p-value of less than 0.05 was used to identify significant variables in multivariate logistic regression analysis. In this study, 47 of students' attitude. Residency, knowledge, and attitude were independent predictors of practice. Awareness creation on preventive behaviors among the students is highly recommended. The KAP of the students towards the Covid-19 was low. Being a health sciences student was an explanatory variable for better knowledge. Sex, being a health science college student, parents' educational status, and monthly income were predictors of students' attitude. Residency, knowledge, and attitude were independent predictors of practice. Awareness creation on preventive behaviors among the students is highly recommended. Osteosarcoma is a malignant primary bone tumor. Bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells-derived extracellular vesicles (BMSC-EVs) bear repair function for bone and cartilage. This study investigated the mechanism of BMSC-EVs in osteosarcoma cell proliferation, migration and invasion. BMSC-EVs were isolated and identified. The effects of different concentrations of EVs on osteosarcoma cell proliferation, migration and invasion were evaluated. LncRNA MALAT1 expression in osteosarcoma cells was detected. BMSCs were transfected with si-MALAT1 or si-NC. The binding relationships between MALAT1 and miR-143, and miR-143 and NRSN2 were verified. Levels of NRSN2 and Wnt/β-catenin pathway key proteins were detected. miR-143 mimic was transfected into EVs-treated osteosarcoma cells. Nude mice were injected with MG63 cells to verify the effect of EVs on osteosarcoma growth in vivo. BMSC-EVs facilitated proliferation, invasion and migration of osteosarcoma cells. BMSC-EVs carried MALAT1 into osteosarcoma cells. BMSC-EVs-treated osteosarcoma cells showed increased MALAT1 and NRSN2 expressions, decreased miR-143 expression, and activated Wnt/β-catenin pathway. miR-143 mimic or si-MALAT1 reversed the effects of BMSC-EVs on osteosarcoma cells. In vivo experiment confirmed that BMSC-EVs promoted tumor growth in nude mice. BMSC-EVs promoted proliferation, invasion and migration of osteosarcoma cells via the MALAT1/miR-143/NRSN2/Wnt/β-catenin axis. This study might offer new insights into osteosarcoma management. BMSC-EVs promoted proliferation, invasion and migration of osteosarcoma cells via the MALAT1/miR-143/NRSN2/Wnt/β-catenin axis. This study might offer new insights into osteosarcoma management. Immunization programs suffer recurrent setbacks in developing countries. We evaluated the knowledge and opinion of parents towards childhood immunization. A cross-sectional study was conducted among 2400 parents/guardians in two major Anambra cities. The malefemale ratio was 11 and about two-third (64.3%) of respondents were aged 21-40 years. The majority were married (85.0%), Christians (88.3%), and had heard about childhood immunization (92.3%) mainly from formal settings (56.5%). A little above half (56.2%) of them correctly cited "disease prevention" as reason for childhood immunization. A larger proportion of those that gave this correct response worked in tertiary institutions and had post-secondary school education ( <0.001). https://www.selleckchem.com/products/VX-809.html The majority of the respondents appropriately agreed or disagreed with opinions that can influence immunization uptake. However, some of them did not agree that immunization was important during the first year of life (16.7%) or afterwards (23.1%); to ensure full immuness on the indication, benefits and safety of immunization, and improving public opinions in order to optimize childhood immunization. Awareness of the term "immunization" was high although knowledge of its indication did not measure up with this awareness, especially among the less educated. Most parents, especially those who worked in tertiary institutions,r had higher income, or education, were favorably disposed towards opinions that could positively influence immunization uptake. Efforts should be intensified at improving awareness on the indication, benefits and safety of immunization, and improving public opinions in order to optimize childhood immunization.
