The phylogenetic analyses indicated that all the Polygonaceae species were clustered in the same group and showed that Rheum species, except for Rheum wittrockii, formed a monophyletic group with high maximum parsimony/maximum likelihood bootstrap support values and Bayesian posterior probabilities. The molecular dating based on plastomes indicated that the divergences within Polygonaceae species were dated to the Upper Cretaceous period [73.86-77.99 million years ago (Ma)]. The divergence of Sect. Palmata species was estimated to have occurred around 1.60 Ma, indicating that its diversification was affected by the repeated climatic fluctuation in the Quaternary.Combining phenotype and gene expression analysis of the CRISPR/Cas9-induced SlAN2 mutants, we revealed that SlAN2 specifically regulated anthocyanin accumulation in vegetative tissues in purple tomato cultivar 'Indigo Rose.' Anthocyanins play an important role in plant development and also exhibit human health benefits. The tomato genome contains four highly homologous anthocyanin-related R2R3-MYB transcription factors SlAN2, SlANT1, SlANT1-like, and SlAN2-like/Aft. SlAN2-like/Aft regulates anthocyanin accumulation in the fruit; however, the genetic function of the other three factors remains unclear. To better understand the function of R2R3-MYB transcription factors, we conducted targeted mutagenesis of SlAN2 in the purple tomato cultivar 'Indigo Rose' using clustered regularly interspersed short palindromic repeats/CRISPR-associated protein 9 (CRISPR/Cas9). The SlAN2 mutants had a fruit color and anthocyanin content similar to cv. 'Indigo Rose,' while the anthocyanin content and the relative expression levels of several anthocyanin-related genes in vegetative tissues were significantly lower in the SlAN2 mutant relative to cv. Indigo Rose. Furthermore, we found that anthocyanin biosynthesis is controlled by different regulators between tomato hypocotyls and cotyledons. In addition, SlAN2 mutants were shorter, with smaller and lighter fruits than cv. 'Indigo Rose.' Our findings further our understanding of anthocyanin production in tomato and other plant species.INTRODUCTION There are many craniometric measurements that are used in evaluating craniovertebral junction (CVJ) pathologies such as basilar invagination, atlantoaxial dislocation and platybasia. Therefore, it is important to determine the normal reference range of the craniometric measurements. This study aims to determine the morphometric reference values of the bony structures in the CVJ from cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images of a group of South Eastern Anatolian population. MATERIALS AND METHODS The CBCT images of 300 individuals were retrospectively evaluated. 14 parameters on midsagittal and 2 parameters on the coronal plane were studied. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/2-nbdg.html The data were statistically evaluated. RESULTS Measurement results were found as follows; the distances between odontoid process (OP) and McGregor line as 0.31 ± 3.22 mm, OP and Chamberlain line 1.06 ± 3.22 mm, OP and McRae line 5.30 ± 1.59 mm, OP and Fischgold digastric line 8.70 ± 4.12 mm, OP and Fischgold bimastoid line - 5.15 ± 4.86 mm, length of McRae line 35.58 ± 2.52 mm, atlantodental interval 1.28 ± 0.48 mm, posterior atlantodental interval 19.54 ± 2.24 mm, basion axial interval 4.01 ± 1.83 mm, basion dental interval 4.92 ± 1.77 mm, length of Modified Ranawat line 28.66 ± 2.38 mm, length of Redlund-Johnell line 35.11 ± 4.09 mm, clivus canal angle 157.62° ± 11.85°, Welcher basal angle 130.83° ± 6.29°, craniocervical tilt 126.98° ± 12.24° and Powers ratio as 0.72 ± 0.06. CONCLUSION In this study, the morphometric values were evaluated according to age and gender in individuals who did not have any radiologic anomalies. The normal reference ranges may be useful for researchers who are researching pathology in this region. It is recommended to conduct further studies with different populations to determine the normal reference range.PURPOSE This study aimed to identify prognostic factors for patients with ICC after a curative resection and clarify the appropriate indications for surgical resection and postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy. METHODS This retrospective study included 81 patients who underwent curative resection for ICC between April 1995 and December 2014. Kaplan-Meier and Cox regression models were used to analyze the effects of clinicopathological features on overall and recurrence-free survival. RESULTS The cumulative 5-year overall survival of 81 patients was 57.2%, and the 5-year recurrence-free survival was 24.0%. The multivariate analysis identified the lymph node status and preoperative CA19-9 levels as independent prognostic factors for overall survival. The 5-year overall survival rates were 79.9% and 38.7% in patients with normal and elevated CA19-9, respectively (p  less then  0.0001). The 5-year overall survival rates of patients with and without nodal metastasis were 33.7% and 60.9%, respectively (p = 0.0007). After adjusting for prognostic factors identified in a Cox regression analysis, we found that nodal-positive disease was significantly associated with benefit from adjuvant chemotherapy (HR 0.32, p = 0.03). CONCLUSIONS Surgical resection with curative intent combined with regional lymph node dissection should be indicated for ICC patients with normal CA19-9 levels. Postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy should be administered to high-risk patients with a positive nodal status.Migration of molecules from packaging into products is a well-known phenomenon of which the studies in the food and medical industries are regulated in Europe by several legislations. However, for cosmetic packagings, there is no protocol nor specific migration limits available. The objective of this work was to use glycerin and liquid paraffin as cosmetic product simulants to perform a safety assessment on phthalates in 11 plastic packagings used in the cosmetic industry. To study these compounds in the matrices, 2 extraction techniques were compared liquid-liquid extraction and solid-phase microextraction (SPME). The optimization of the 2 processes of extraction showed that SPME was more adapted to the study. Finally, samples of glycerin and liquid paraffin were analyzed by a SPME-GC-MS method to quantitate 10 regulated phthalates. In glycerin, only DEP was quantitated above the LOQ in 3 packagings, but the concentrations measured were under the set concentration threshold of 0.5 ppm. In liquid paraffin, DEP was quantitated above this concentration threshold.
