Evidences from either small series or spontaneous reporting are accumulating that SARS-CoV-2 involves the Nervous Systems. The aim of this study is to provide an extensive overview on the major neurological complications in a large cohort of COVID-19 patients. Retrospective, observational analysis on all COVID-19 patients admitted from February 23rd to April 30th, 2020 to ASST Papa Giovanni XXIII, Bergamo, Italy for whom a neurological consultation/neurophysiological assessment/neuroradiologic investigation was requested. Each identified neurologic complication was then classified into main neurologic categories. Of 1760 COVID-19 patients, 137 presented neurologic manifestations that manifested after COVID-19 symptoms in 98 pts and was the presenting symptom in 39. Neurological manifestations were classified as (a) cerebrovascular disease [53 pts (38.7%)] including 37 ischemic and 11 haemorrhagic strokes, 4 transient ischemic attacks, 1 cerebral venous thrombosis; (b) peripheral nervous system diseases n order to set the adequate therapeutic strategies.Groundwater quality monitoring is a critical part of water management in all groundwater basins. In order to be effective and to meet the required needs, groundwater quality monitoring networks (GQMNs) must be designed to be able to operate long-term and economically without minimal disruption. The analytical hierarchical process (AHP), a multi-criteria decision-making program, was used to design a GQMN for an alluvial aquifer located in the Islam Abad plain west of Kermanshah province, Iran. This semi-arid area is subject to groundwater depletion and water quality changes. The model used 8 primary criteria sub-divided with 5 sub-criteria based on a combination of empirical data and expert opinion. The primary criteria included density of wells, well discharge, well depth, water quality (conductivity), flow direction, annual groundwater extraction, water level declines, and accessibility. The model showed that 59 of 254 production wells in the basin could provide optimal monitoring locations. When a second screening of the wells was used to determine constraints (physical conditions of the wells and pumps, owner permission of use, type of the pump, etc.), the number of wells was reduced to 13 wells. An initial round of water sampling and chemical analysis demonstrated that the design of the GQMN met the goals of the water management agency of the region. The effect of neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (CRT) and the relationship between pathological complete response (pCR) with clinical outcomes has been evaluated in elderly locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC) patients. We retrospectively analyzed 117 LARC patients treated with conformal RT and concomitant fluoropirimidine-based chemotherapy. A dose of 4500cGy, on the pelvis, up to 5500cGy on the tumor was delivered. Multidisciplinary evaluation, including geriatric assessment, was previously performed to identify frail patients unsuitable for combined treatment. The median age was 75 (range 70-88years), and 103 (88%) patients had ECOG Performance Status (PS) = 0. All patients except one completed CRT. Ten (8.5%) patients temporarily suspended CRT for acute severe hematologic complication, diarrhea and/or proctitis and hypokalemia. Of the 103 operated patients (88%), a pCR, according to Mandard tumor regression grade (TRG) score, was obtained in 28 patients (27.2%), with TRG1-2 rate of 43.7%. The 3- and 5-year overall survival (OS) rates were 80.2% ± 4.2% and 68.0% ± 5.2%, 72.4% ± 4.5% and 57.8% ± 5.2% for disease-free survival (DFS), and 92.2% ± 2.8% and 89.5% ± 3.9% for loco-regional control. Patients with TRG1-2 had 3- and 5-year OS rates of 84.1% ± 6.6% and 84.1% ± 6.6% compared with 82.8% ± 5.5% and 67.7% ± 7.2% for patients with TRG3-5 (p = 0.012). The 3- and 5-year DFS rates for patients with TRG1-2 were 77.6% ± 7.0% and 74.2% ± 7.5% compared with 70.9% ± 6.3% and 54.7% ± 7.3% for patients with TRG3-5 (p = 0.009). The purpose of this prospective, randomized, exploratory clinical trial was to optimize the dose and dosing time of ICG. PubMed was searched to determine the optimal dose. To optimize the dosing time of ICG, a clinical trial was designed with two parts. The first part included patients with T tubes for more than 1month. After the patient was injected with ICG, bile was collected at 10 time points to explore the change and trends of bile fluorescence intensity (FI). Data of all patients who underwent RAL primary and revisional RYGB between 2009 and 2019 at two accredited, high-volume bariatric surgery centers-the Memorial Hermann - Texas Medical Center, Houston, TX, and the Tower Health, Reading Hospital, Reading, PA, were analyzed.
