However, none of the levels of PLT (SMD - 0.13; 95% CI - 0.28-0.012; P = 0.071) or PDW (SMD 0.30; 95% CI - 0.22-0.83; P = 0.257) was seen decrease or increase in subjects with AA. This meta-analysis indicates a significant decrease in MPV levels in patients with AA, which makes MPV have the potential of serving as a biomarker for AA. The associations of other PLT indices with AA need to be further examined.Parkinson's spectrum disorders (PSD) are neurodegenerative parkinsonian conditions that carry a tremendous symptom burden. Palliative care is an interdisciplinary medical specialty that focuses on improving quality of life for patients and caregivers affected by serious life-limiting illnesses, at any stage of disease. Research and clinical programs into this emerging therapeutic approach remain limited. This review focuses on the role of palliative care in the treatment of patients with PSD. Gaps in knowledge and recommendations for future research are discussed. Clinical management of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) centres on treating comorbidities and is likely to vary between countries. Thus, to provide insight into the current management of HFpEF, studies from multiple countries are required. We evaluated the clinical profiles and current management of patients with HFpEF in the Netherlands. We included 2153patients with HFpEF (defined as aleft ventricular ejection fraction ≥ 50%) from the CHECK-HF registry, which included patients from 2013 to 2016. Median age was 77 (IQR15) years, 55% were women and the most frequent comorbidities were hypertension (51%), renal insufficiency (45%) and atrial fibrillation (AF, 38%). Patients between 65and 80years and those over 80years had on average more comorbidities (up to 64% and 74%, respectively, with two or more
