This guide will enable Shield owners to play Dolby Vision MKV's until Plex update the native Plex app on the Shield.

All credit goes to yusesope on the MakeMKV forum as he has made this possible by modifying the exoplayer.

First download and sideload the modified exoplayer from here:

Install Kodi on your Shield then install the Plex add on.  You need to change one setting in the Plex add on, go to settings then video and select allow HEVC (h265)

You then need to gain access to your Shield via a PC, follow this guide:

Once you have access to the folder structure of your Shield navigate to:

Android\data\org.xbmc.kodi\files\.kodi\userdata

You will have to enable the option to view hidden items as the .kodi folder is a hidden folder.
