The aim of the current prospective pilot study was to describe a hyperaccuracy three-dimensional (HA3D™) model reconstruction technique, specifically developed to maximize the visualization of the renal collecting system's anatomy, and its relationship with the stones, vessels and renal parenchyma, and to compare the HA3D™ virtual models with the intraoperative findings. The image acquisition was performed using a CT scanner (Toshiba, Aquilion Prime) and included the unenhanced, arterial, venous and excretory phases. Magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) provides a non-invasive means of determining isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) status. Determination of 2-hydroxyglutarate (2-HG) presence through MRS is a means of determining IDH status; however, differences may be seen by grade. The goal of this paper is to perform a diagnostic test accuracy (DTA) meta-analysis on 2-HG MRS for IDH status in both lower-grade glioma (LGG) and glioblastoma (GBM) in preoperative patients. A systematic review and meta-analysis were performed in accordance with Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses-Diagnostic Test Accuracy guidelines. Quality assessment was performed using the Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies 2. The search was up to date as of 09/02/2021. Nine English-language journal articles were included. The meta-analysis found a pooled sensitivity of 93% (95% CI 58-99%) and specificity of 84% (95% CI 51-96%) for LGG (n= 181). For GBM (n= 77), the pooled sensitivity was 84% (95% CI 25.0-99groups. For more conclusive results, diagnostic test accuracy statistics need to be quantified with larger studies and more deliberate study design.We evaluated mortality in a cohort of hip fracture patients and implemented a risk prediction score named ASAgeCoGeCC with excellent discrimination. Recognition of the heterogeneity of patients with femoral fractures may have relevant implications for their management. Usage of risk prediction models to estimate postoperative mortality risk for hip fracture patients represents a useful tool to give insight in the prognosis and assist in clinical decision-making. The aim of this study was to identify a predictive model able to determine the possible presence of distinct subgroups of hip fracture patients by risk classes in the mid-term. Three hundred twenty-three hip fracture patients were evaluated, and mortality rates at 30 days, 1, 2, and 4 years were calculated. A multivariate logistic regression analysis using mortality 4 years after fracture as a dependent variable found ASA score, age, cognitive status, gender, and excellent discrimination properties. It is the first scoring system stratifying hip fracture patients' mortality at 4 years from fracture. Subcutaneous fentanyl injection is commonly prescribed to manage acute pain in older patients; however, there is a gap in the literature describing the pharmacokinetic parameters for this route of administration in this population. The aim of this study was to develop and evaluate a population pharmacokinetic model for subcutaneous fentanyl injection in older patients. Twenty-one patients who received subcutaneous fentanyl injections (50 to 75 μg) were recruited. Fentanyl concentrations were determined using a validated liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry method. A population pharmacokinetic model was developed using non-linear mixed-effects modelling. A base model was selected based on the Akaike information criterion.
