https://www.selleckchem.com/products/BKM-120.html Resonant inelastic x-ray spectroscopy at the uranium N4 absorption edge at 778 eV has been used to reveal the excitations in UO2 up to 1 eV. The earlier (1989) studies by neutron inelastic scattering of the crystal-field states within the 3H4 multiplet are confirmed. In addition, the first excited state of the 3F2 multiplet at ∼520 meV has been established, and there is a weak signal corresponding to the next excited state at ∼920 meV. This represents a successful application of soft x-ray spectroscopy to an actinide sample, and resolves an open question in UO2 that has been discussed for 50 years. The technique is described and important caveats are drawn about possible future applications.Muon spin spectroscopic measurements were made on atactic low-molecular-weight (LMW) (1.3 kg mol-1) and high-molecular-weight (HMW) (202 kg mol-1) polystyrene. Muoniated cyclohexadienyl radicals, which are formed by muonium addition to the phenyl side groups, are used as local probes of bulk dynamics. Muon spin relaxation is caused by the secondary γ-relaxation process, which involves motion of the phenyl rings, and is sensitive to the glass transition. The activation energy of the γ-relaxation process in the rubbery state is 0.60(2) eV in the HMW sample and 0.37(3) eV in the LMW sample. In recent years, a growing body of literature has highlighted the role of wearable and mobile remote measurement technology (RMT) applied to seizure detection in hospital settings, whereas more limited evidence has been produced in the community setting. In clinical practice, seizure assessment typically relies on self-report, which is known to be highly unreliable. Moreover, most people with epilepsy self-identify factors that lead to increased seizure likelihood, including mood, behavior, sleep pattern, and cognitive alterations, all of which are amenable to measurement via multiparametric RMT. The primary aim of this multicenter prospective coh
