The primary area is the battery assembly area which is with full automation via state-of-the-art robotic technology, laser welding systems ensuring precision and CCD vision systems for cross-checking the quality of each battery pack against a master unit before being installed into an 100% electric vehicle. The other core zone is allocated for battery standard testing comprising over 60 processes including charge-discharge cycles, Air Leak Test, insulation testing and static load tests. This manufacturing line can produce as many as fifty thousand cell-to-pack EV battery packs annually, offering quality standards equivalent to batteries made for global markets. Battery packs manufactured at the manufacturing plant are slated to be first installed in the MG4 EV and other other models in the future. At present, the plant is undergoing preparatory production phases with plans for official operations to commence next year.
