The World Health Organization declared the 2019 coronavirus (COVID-19) a global pandemic on March 12, 2020. However, inadequate attention seems to have been paid to the heart when managing COVID-19 in terms of detection, monitoring and treatment. We are of the opinion that these severe patients may have had myocardial injury or acute myocarditis. Signs that supports this opinion is the extremely high myocardial injury markers in severe patients, cardiac arrhythmia and suffer progressive heart failure or unexpected cardiac arrest in recent studies. Some suggestions involved of treatment need to be made. The use of an intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) plus extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) should be placed earlier if the pneumonia progresses rapidly, the ejection fraction decreases or there is heart failure. Besides, blood purification treatment including continuous kidney substitution treatment (CRRT) is recommended to clear inflammatory factors and block cytokine storm. In addition, the early usage of glucocorticoid and human immunoglobulin has been found to be preferable when acute myocarditis is accompanied by unstable hemodynamics. Essential tremor is the most prevalent movement disorder and is thought to be caused by abnormalities in the cerebellar system; however, its underlying neural mechanism is poorly understood. In this study, we found that mice lacking netrin-G2, a cell adhesion molecule which is expressed in neural circuits related to the cerebellar system, exhibited a microtremor resembling an essential tremor. However, it was difficult to quantify microtremors in netrin-G2 KO mice. We developed a new tremor detector which can quantify the intensity and frequency of a tremor. Using this system, we were able to characterize both the microtremors in netrin-G2 KO mice and low-dose harmaline-induced tremors which, to date, had been difficult to detect. Alcohol and anti-tremor drugs, which are effective in decreasing the symptoms of essential tremor in patients, were examined in netrin-G2 KO mice. We found that some drugs lowered the tremor frequency, but had little effect on tremor intensity. Forced swim as a stress stimulus in netrin-G2 KO mice dramatically enhanced tremor symptoms. The detection performance even for tremors induced by low-dose harmaline was similar to that in previous studies or more sensitive than the others. Microtremors in netrin-G2 KO mice are reliably and quantitatively detected by our new tremor detection system. And the improved model has more applications in research.The Heartbeat Evoked Potential (HEP) has been proposed as a neurophysiological marker of interoceptive processing. Despite its use to validate interoceptive measures and to assess interoceptive functioning in clinical groups, the empirical evidence for a relationship between HEP amplitude and interoceptive processing, including measures of such processing, is scattered across several studies with varied designs. The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to examine the body of HEP-interoception research, and consider the associations the HEP shows with various direct and indirect measures of interoception, and how it is affected by manipulations of interoceptive processing. Specifically, we assessed the effect on HEP amplitude of manipulating attention to the heartbeat; manipulating participants' arousal; the association between the HEP and behavioural measures of cardiac interoception; and comparisons between healthy and clinical groups. Following database searches and screening, 45 studies were included in the systematic review and 42 in the meta-analyses. We noted variations in the ways individual studies have attempted to address key confounds, particularly the cardiac field artefact. Meta-analytic summaries indicated there were moderate to large effects of attention, arousal, and clinical status on the HEP, and a moderate association between HEP amplitude and behavioural measures of interoception. Problematically, the reliability of the meta-analytic effects documented here remain unknown, given the lack of standardised protocols for measuring the HEP. Thus, it is possible effects are driven by confounds such as cardiac factors or somatosensory effects.
