https://evolutionkr.kr/ The Berkeley Evolution Site Teachers and students who visit the Berkeley site will find a wealth of resources to help them understand and teach evolution. The materials are organized into a variety of learning paths such as "What did T. rex taste like?" Charles Darwin's theory of natural selection states that over time creatures that are more adaptable to changing environments survive and those that don't become extinct. This process of evolution in biology is the main focus of science. What is Evolution? The term "evolution" has a variety of nonscientific meanings, such as "progress" or "descent with modification." Scientifically it is a term used to describe a changing the characteristics of living things (or species) over time. In terms of biology, this change is caused by natural selection and genetic drift. Evolution is a central tenet of modern biology. It is a concept that has been tested and confirmed by thousands of scientific tests. Evolution doesn't deal with the existence of God or religious beliefs in the same way as other scientific theories such as the Copernican or germ theory of diseases. Early evolutionists, such as Erasmus Darwin (Charles’s grandfather) and Jean-Baptiste Lamarck believed that certain physical traits were predetermined to evolve in a stepped-like manner over time. They called this the "Ladder of Nature" or scala naturae. Charles Lyell used the term to describe this concept in his Principles of Geology, first published in 1833. Darwin published his theory of evolution in his book On the Origin of Species published in the early 1800s. It asserts that all species of organisms share common ancestors that can be traced by fossils and other evidence. This is the modern view of evolution, which is supported by many lines of research in science, including molecular genetics. Scientists aren't sure how organisms have evolved, but they are confident that natural selection and genetic drift is the reason for the evolut
