https://www.selleckchem.com/products/thapsigargin.html It was demonstrated that for distractors shifted along the stimulus axis, the magnitude of the illusion increases to a certain maximum value with the increase of distractors displacement and smoothly decreases to zero thereafter. For distractors shifted orthogonally to the stimulus axis, the illusion magnitude monotonically decreases with the increase of distractors displacement. In the case of the distractor rotation, the greatest illusion magnitude refers to orientations of the distracting line segment along the stimulus axis and decreases to the minimum value for the orthogonal orientation. Based on the analysis of established functional dependencies, we proposed a simple quantitative interpretation of the obtained experimental data.Assessing heart and diaphragm function constitutes only one of the steps to consider along the weaning path. In this second part of the review, we will deal with the more systematic evaluation of the pulmonary parenchyma-often implicated in the genesis of respiratory failure. We will also consider the other possible causes of weaning failure that lie beyond the cardio-pulmonary-diaphragmatic system. Finally, we will take a moment to consider the remaining unsolved problems arising from mechanical ventilation and describe the so-called protective approach to parenchyma and diaphragm ventilation. Most point-of-care tests (POCT) use swabs for sampling and/or for applying a sample on the test. A variety of swabs differing in tip materials is commercially available. Different tip materials have different chemical and physical characteristics which might influence the specimen collection and release. We investigated properties of various types of swabs used in clinical diagnostics with focusing on two kinds of analytes, DNA and proteins, which are most often used targets in POCT. As the model samples we used diphtheria toxoid NIBSC 69/017 for investigating recovery of protein analytes su
