This review gives a thorough summary of the possible role of melatonin in wound healing of dental pulp and periodontium in connection with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, cell proliferation, and cell differentiation. Any contradictory evidence is also assessed. The PubMed database was searched for all research articles published before April 2020 with the search terms "melatonin" and "dental pulp".
