Results from this experiment showed that different soilless growing media and fertigation had varying effects on alkaloid concentrations in S. tortuosum. It was also observed that roots contained higher amounts of delta 7 mesembrenone and mesembrenone, while shoots contained higher amounts of the alkaloid mesembrine.Solidifiers are dry, granular hydrophobic polymers that form physical bonds with hydrocarbons by molecular interactions (hydrogen bonding, London forces), and are used to immobilize hydrocarbon spill propagation and dispersion. CIAgentĀ© is a non-toxic, proprietary polymer blend listed as an "Oil Solidifier" on the EPA's National Contingency Plan Product Schedule for use on hydrocarbon spills in the navigable waterways of United States. CIAgent solidifies the liquid hydrocarbons through a rapid transformation into a cohesive rubber-like inert mass upon contact and retains the liquid for easier removal and disposal. The objective of this paper is to determine the effectiveness of the solidifier with a variety of hydrocarbon liquids that could be encountered in an oil spill scenario. The effectiveness of the solidifier was characterized in terms of the application rate, temperature change, solubility parameters and solidification time for a variety of hydrocarbon liquids (e. g., gasoline, diesel fuel, crude oil) that could be encountered by measuring the heat of solidification using a solution calorimeter. A thermogram was obtained and the heat of solidification was calculated using the temperature difference upon solidification. The temperature change and the degree of swelling in the solidifier were used to determine the solubility parameter of the solidifier (6.77 Hildebrands). The heat of solidification value was used to determine the ease and speed of the solidification of the hydrocarbon liquids. Solidification times ranged from 40 to 120 s for the liquids tested. The average application ratio in weight of solidifier to weight of hydrocarbon ranged was 3.35.African yam bean (AYB) is an underutilised legume indigenous to West and East Africa with nutritional content comparable to other commonly consumed legumes. The nutrient density of the crop makes it a viable food crop for ameliorating the challenges of malnutrition faced in many developing countries, via direct consumption or fortification and enrichment of less nutritious staples. This review summarises the current body of knowledge on the use of African yam bean as a viable enrichment and fortification crop. Proximate composition and nutritional quality of foods (breakfast diets, traditional foods, snacks and instant noodles) fortified, enriched and complemented with AYB were discussed. The phytochemical and antioxidant potential of the crop were also discussed. Future studies should focus more on awareness towards the deliberate commercialisation of the crop and elevation of its status into a widely - consumed food in all households across developing countries. Adequate experimental design for optimum quantity to be used in the enrichment and fortification of many staples to improve their acceptance among consumers should be put in place. Phytochemical extracts of the bean are also proposed for use in the development of functional foods to mitigate against many lifestyle diseases.This paper examines the intention to use m-commerce in low-income consumers in Ecuador by expanding the original unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT2) model to include the trust and perceived security constructs. A total of 344 Ecuadorians were surveyed according to the following criteria 1) had made at least one purchase through their mobile device in the last month and, 2) belonged to the low and medium-low socioeconomic segment of the selected country. The results showed that facilitating conditions, hedonic motivation, habit, and perceived trust significantly and positively predict the intention to use m-commerce. The best predictor was facilitating conditions followed by perceived trust. Contrary to expectations, performance expectancy, social influence, and perceived security did not significantly affect low-income consumers' intention to use m-commerce. This study produced diverging results in significant constructs used to validate the UTAUT2, highlighting the need to examine this model in different countries further. The relationships of the core constructs of UTAUT2 vary according to the country studied, possibly due to differences in national culture and economic development that could moderate the impact of explanatory constructs of technology adoption.This paper considers a non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) multi-user relay system where both source and relay harvest the energy from a power beacon (PB) equipped with multiple antennas and use this harvested energy to transmit signals to several users. Realistic nonlinear energy harvesting models are applied, and time switching protocols are adopted at source and relay. We successfully derive the exact closed-form expressions of the outage probability and throughput of the system over Nakagami-m fading channels. Then, we use Monte-Carlo simulations to validate the correctness of these derived mathematical expressions. Numerical results show that a higher saturated power threshold of the nonlinear energy harvester results in lower outage probability and higher throughput. Moreover, the optimal time switching ratio that maximizes the throughput is smaller than the optimal time switching ratio that minimizes the outage probability. The vividness of mental imagery has been defined as the clarity, brightness, or intensity of an image as reported by the individual (Marks, 1973). There are many studies conducted on vividness in typically developing (TD) individuals, however, no attempt has been made either to assess the vividness of mental imagery in people with intellectual disability (ID) or compare it with that of typically developing (TD) adults. A vividness of imagery test (comprising a modified version of the Vividness of Visual Imagery Questionnaire 2, (VVIQ-2; Marks, 1995), and two items of the Age Projection Test, (APT; Ahsen, 1988) were administered to participants with mild, moderate, and severe ID. Their performance on the vividness scale was compared with typically developing individuals. Measures for cognitive and adaptive functioning were administered to ascertain the ID level of participants.
