Selenium (Se) is an essential micronutrient for human beings and plants are the current main sources of Se element in Asian diet. Therefore a feasible way to increase people's Se intake is to increase Se content in plants. In this paper, we focus on how the tomato (Solanum Lycopersicum) yield and quality are influenced by the effect of irrigation amount, Se-enriched and high-calcium organic fertilizer and compound fertilizer amount respectively. The results from a two-year experiment show that the combination of Se-enriched organic fertilizer and compound fertilizer can significantly increase the tomato yield comparing with the use of NPK organic or compound fertilizer. It is also shown that by applying more Se-enriched and high-calcium organic fertilizer the contents of Se, Lycopene, Vitamin C (Vc) and soluble sugar in tomato fruit can be increased considerably. It was found that the highest Se content was achieved using 100% Se-enriched organic fertilizer combined with irrigation at 100% in 2016 and 100% Se-enriched organic fertilizer with irrigation at 80% in 2017. Deficit irrigation (80%) can help to increase Water Use Efficiency (WUE) and the Se and VC contents in tomato yield. Therefore in order to improve the Se-enriched tomato yield and quality, it is suggested to apply 100% Se-enriched organic fertilizer and adopt the deficit irrigation at 80%.Three experiments were conducted to investigate the Cd tolerance and accumulation ability of a forage grass, Pterocypsela indica. P. indica accumulated 31.40 and 69.68 mg/kg Cd in roots and shoots, respectively, and plant biomass was unaffected by soil Cd as high as 50 mg/kg. Cd pollution obviously increased the Cd content of the cell wall fraction and decreased that of the soluble fraction in plant roots, but had little effect on the subcellular Cd content in plant shoots. When soil was co-contaminated by 2.29 mg/kg Cd, 526.83 mg/kg Zn, and 595.38 mg/kg Pb, P. indica accumulated 61.63 mg/kg Cd, 4261.00 mg/kg Zn, and 75.27 mg/kg Pb in plant shoots. The results indicated that P. indica mainly detoxified Cd stress by improving the fixation of Cd on the cell wall of plant roots rather than shoots. P. indica is a potential Cd accumulator that has a high phytoremediation efficiency in Cd-Zn-contaminated soil. In rhinoplasty, many techniques are used to increase the permanence of the planned final shape of the nose. Cartilage grafts can be diced and applied directly to the nasal dorsum, or by wrapping with a material. We aim to show that mixing and using diced cartilage grafts with fat grafts can contribute to the viability of cartilage grafts by comparing our early postoperative and long-term results. A total of 228 cases were analyzed. Postoperative 1-month, 6-month, and 1.5-year photographs of the patients were compared and the places that descended on the nasal dorsum were measured. In addition, dorsal height was measured and compared. Preoperative and postoperative first-year rhinoplasty outcome evaluation scales were performed. Specimens from 6 patients were examined histopathologically. After the first month, the mean regression in the dorsum was measured as 1.4 mm. The decrease in dorsal height between 1 month and 6 months was significantly greater than the decrease between 6 months and late periods. ns to Authors www.springer.com/00266 . Nipple reconstruction using local skin flap leaves no morbidity in the healthy nipple. However, one disadvantage of this procedure is that the projection is not often maintained. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/pu-h71.html There are few reports on the rate of long-term maintenance of nipple projection. This study aimed to analyze the 5-year results of clover flap (C-F) nipple reconstruction to determine whether it can be used to maintain nipple projection for long periods and to investigate the factors involved in maintenance of nipple projection. Patients that underwent nipple-areola reconstruction using C-F after undergoing a two-stage implant-based breast reconstruction with skin-sparing mastectomy between January 2012 and December 2019 were included. The projection of the reconstructed nipple was measured annually for 5 years postoperatively, and the nipple projection maintenance rate (%) was calculated. The influence of eight factors, namely smoking, irradiation, scarred skin, flap pedicle relative to the mastectomy scar, location of the masteease refer to the Table of Contents or the online Instructions to Authors www.springer.com/00266 . Labiaplasty (labia minora reduction) has been increasingly requested in recent years. The surgical procedures previously reported in the literature may have some complications that affect patient satisfaction. Patients who underwent a new bilateral labiaplasty procedure that combined wedge de-epithelialization on the medial side with edge resection on the lateral side were retrospectively reviewed. Satisfaction rates were assessed, and questionnaires, namely the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) and Genital Appearance Satisfaction (GAS) scale, were distributed and analyzed. The data from the study group were compared with data from cases who underwent traditional labiaplasty with wedge resection (control group). From October 2015 to February 2020, fifty-one women underwent modified labiaplasty, while 26 women underwent traditional labiaplasty. A total of 94.1% (48/51) of patients in the modified group were satisfied with the genital appearance. Compared with the 96.2% (25/26) satisfaction rate in the r online Instructions to Authors www.springer.com/00266 . This new modified labiaplasty is a satisfying and safe method with low risks, and it may result in better sexual sensitivity for the patients LEVEL OF EVIDENCE IV This journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article.
