To analyze body dissatisfaction in relation to orthorexic eating behavior in a sample of young females to further investigate characteristic features of orthorexic eating behavior and its association with other eating disorders. N = 197 young females (age M = 29.59, SD = 10.85years) completed an online survey with the following questionnaires the Düsseldorf Orthorexia Scale to measure orthorexic eating behavior, the Eating Disorder Inventory-2 (EDI-2), measuring psychopathological aspects of disordered eating behavior, the Dresden Body Image Questionnaire (DKB-35) to measure five components of body image, and the Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ), measuring body dissatisfaction. In the total sample, Pearson correlations revealed that orthorexic eating behavior was positively associated with drive for thinness and body dissatisfaction. An independent samples t-Test revealed that females with elevated levels of orthorexic eating behavior (n = 35) displayed higher levels of drive for thinness and body dissatisfaction and lower levels of self-acceptance in comparison to a randomized sample from the remaining females with low levels of orthorexic eating behavior (n = 35). According to a multiple regression analysis, drive for thinness and body dissatisfaction measured by the BSQ served as positive predictors for orthorexic eating behavior, whereas bulimia and body dissatisfaction measured by the EDI-2 served as negative predictors. Results reveal that orthorexic eating behavior is more closely related to psychopathological aspects of other eating disorders than previously assumed. In this study, we aimed to assess gene expression and the level of IL-10 in the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex of rats, after a single injection of neurotoxicant trimethyltin chloride (TMT). It was shown that 4 weeks after the treatment with TMT, the level of IL-10 in the prefrontal cortex, but not in the hippocampus of TMT-treated rats, was increased. However, expression level of IL-10 mRNA was upregulated both in the hippocampus and in the prefrontal cortex 3 weeks after the injection. Concomitantly, within the same post-treatment period, the expression level of the cyclooxygenase-2 was upregulated in both brain structures, indicating the induction of neuroinflammation. Although ACED is often encountered in the stomach, it is very rare in the colon and has not been sufficiently reported. ACED has also not been described in the WHO and Japanese Colonic Carcinoma Classification. ACED has biological characteristics of easy metastasis and a poor prognosis than these of tubular adenocarcinoma. Therefore, all cases of colonic ACED that have been reported previously required either surgery or chemotherapy. We describe a case of flat-elevated-type and 15 mm in size colonic ACED that was successfully treated with endoscopic submucosal dissection. We report our case along with a relevant literature review.A 60-year-old male visited a previous hospital with upper abdominal pain. He was diagnosed with localized mild acute pancreatitis. Three months later, abdominal contrast-enhanced computed tomography showed focal parenchymal atrophy of the pancreas with distal pancreatic duct dilation. No obvious solid mass could be found at the site of the pancreatic duct stenosis on imaging examinations. Endoscopic retrograde pancreatography showed focal mild stenosis with distal pancreatic duct dilation in the tail of the pancreas. Carcinoma in situ of the pancreas was strongly suspected, especially based on the presence of focal atrophy of the pancreas around the site of stenosis of the main pancreatic duct and the distal pancreatic duct dilation. Laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy was performed. Histologically, high-grade pancreatic intraepithelial neoplasia was found in the epithelium of the stenotic main pancreatic duct and its branches. This case suggests that localized acute pancreatitis and focal atrophy of the pancreas with distal dilation of the pancreatic duct could be important clinical manifestations of pancreatic carcinoma in situ.
