Freezing stress is the key factor that affecting the cell activity and fermentation performance of baker's yeast in frozen dough production. Generally, cells protect themselves from injury and maintain metabolism by regulating gene expression and modulating metabolic patterns in stresses. The Snf1 protein kinase is an important regulator of yeast in response to stresses. In this study, we aim to study the role of the catalytic subunit of Snf1 protein kinase in the cell tolerance and dough leavening ability of baker's yeast during freezing. Furthermore, the effects of SNF1 overexpression on the global gene expression and metabolite profile of baker's yeast before and after freezing were analysed using RNA-sequencing and untargeted UPLC - QTOF-MS/MS, respectively. The results suggest that overexpression of SNF1 was effective in enhancing the cell tolerance and fermentation capacity of baker's yeast in freezing, which may be related to the upregulated proteasome, altered metabolism of carbon sources and protectant molecules, and changed cell membrane components. SNF1 overexpression altered the level of leucin, proline, serine, isoleucine, arginine, homocitrulline, glycerol, palmitic acid, lysophosphatidylcholine (LysoPC), and lysophosphatidylethanolamine (LysoPE) before freezing, conferring cells resistance in freezing. After freezing, relative high level of proline, lysine, and glycerol maintained by SNF1 overexpression with increased content of LysoPC and LysoPE. Globally, healthcare professionals' turnover and retention play a critical role in the delivery of essential health services. In Ghana, however, little has been done to ascertain job satisfaction levels among human resources for eye-health. The objective of this study therefore was to assess job satisfaction and its associated factors among optometrists in Ghana. A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 304 registered and licensed optometrists of the Ghana Optometric Association between September 2018 and June 2019. A validated, well-structured questionnaire was used to elicit information on socio-demographic characteristics of participants and measures on job satisfaction. Scores from a five-point Likert scale was employed to examine job satisfaction and its associated factors. Linear regression analyses were used to evaluate the association between overall job satisfaction and its associated factdevelopment of quality eye-health systems and the provision of high-quality eyecare services. The present study aimed to investigate how YAP regulates cell proliferation via autophagy in lung adenocarcinomas (LUAD). Data of LUAD chip GSE43458 was obtained from Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO). RT-qPCR and Western blot were performed to assess YAP expression in LUAD cell lines. CCK-8 assay, xenograft tumor model, immunochemistry and GFP-mRFP-LC3 fusion proteins were utilized to evaluate the effect of YAP on autophagy of LUAD cells in vitro and in vivo. Autophagy inhibitor treatment and rescue experiments were carried out to elucidate the mechanism by which YAP manipulates autophagy in LUAD cells. The Malaria Elimination Demonstration Project (MEDP) maintained a workforce of 235 Village Malaria Workers (VMWs) and 25 Malaria Field Coordinators (MFCs) to conduct disease surveillance, case management, IEC/BCC activities, capacity building, and monitoring of vector control activities in 1233 villages of Mandla, a high malaria endemic district of Madhya Pradesh in central India. The learnings of this study, including the training modules and monitoring processes, can be used to train the health delivery staff for achieving national goal for malaria elimination by 2030.
