0 Gy, strongly suggesting a reduction in the total dose. In summary, LDRT is a good alternative treatment option for patients suffering from degenerative and inflammatory joint disease of the fingers.Worldwide, tuberculosis (TB) remains the most frequent and important infectious disease that is responsible for causing significant morbidity and death [...].Agronomic traits, oil content, fatty acid composition, antioxidant activity, and total phenolic content were studied on eight A. cruentus accessions cultivated in Southern Italy. A one-way ANOVA model was performed to compare accessions and the Principal Components Analysis was applied to identify patterns in our dataset and highlight similarities and differences. A. cruentus showed valuable seed yield (0.27 kg/m2, on average) comparable to the main tradition cereals used for animal feeding. Seed-oil composition showed significant differences among the accessions. Data showed a higher lipid content than most cereal grains (from 5.6 to 7.3%). Approximately 60% of fatty acids were unsaturated; linoleic fatty acid ranged from 19 to 34%, oleic acid from 29 to 36%, and alfa-linolenic fatty acid from 0.3 to 0.5%, respectively. The saturated/unsaturated fatty acid ratio ranged from 0.5 to 0.8, the hypocholesterolemichypercholesterolaemic ratio from 1.7 to 2.7, the Atherogenic Index from 0.38 to 0.66, the Thrombogenic Index from 0.85 to 1.48, the total phenolic content from 0.14 to 0.36 mg/g seeds, and the antioxidant activity (DPPH•) from 0.30 to 0.50. The studied seed-oil composition evidenced A. cruentus as a healthy ingredient for animal feed and consequently, as a possible substitute for traditional cereals. Accessions from Mexico and Arizona emerged for their high qualitative traits. The present study explored the effects of a second-generation mindfulness-based intervention known as flow meditation (Meditación-Fluir) in the improvement of healthy life behaviors. A sample of university students (n = 51) in Spain were randomly assigned to a seven-week mindfulness treatment or a waiting list control group. Results showed that compared to the control group, individuals in the mindfulness group demonstrated significant improvements across all outcome measures including healthy eating habits (balanced diet, intake rate, snacking between meals, decrease in consumption by negative emotional states, increased consumption by negative emotional states, amount of consumption, meal times, consumption of low-fat products), tobacco, alcohol, and cannabis consumption, and resting habits. There were differences between males and females in some of these variables and a better effect of the treatment was evident in the females of the experimental group when compared to the males. The flow meditation program shows promise for fostering a healthy lifestyle, thus decreasing behaviors related to maladaptive eating, tobacco, alcohol, and cannabis consumption as well as negative rest habits in university students. This mindfulness program could significantly contribute to the treatment of eating disorders and addictions, wherein negative emotional states and impulsivity are central features of the condition. The recovery of La(III) and Ni(II) ions by a macroporous cation exchanger in sodium form (Lewatit Monoplus SP112) has been studied in batch experiments under varying HNO3 concentrations (0.2-2.0 mol/dm3), La(III) and Ni(II) concentrations (25-200 mg/dm3), phase contact time (1-360 min), temperature (293-333 K), and resin mass (0.1-0.5 g). The experimental data revealed that the sorption process was dependent on all parameters used. The maximum sorption capacities were found at CHNO3 = 0.2 mol/dm3, m = 0.1 g, and T = 333 K. The kinetic data indicate that the sorption followed the pseudo-second order and film diffusion models. The sorption equilibrium time was reached at approximately 30 and 60 min for La(III) and Ni(II) ions, respectively. The equilibrium isotherm data were best fitted with the Langmuir model. The maximum monolayer capacities of Lewatit Monoplus SP112 were equal to 95.34 and 60.81 mg/g for La(III) and Ni(II) ions, respectively. The thermodynamic parameters showed that the sorption process was endothermic and spontaneous. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/inx-315.html Moreover, dynamic experiments were performed using the columns set. The resin regeneration was made using HCl and HNO3 solutions, and the desorption results exhibited effective regeneration. The ATR/FT-IR and XPS spectroscopy results indicated that the La(III) and Ni(II) ions were coordinated with the sulfonate groups.Texture and microstructure evolution of ingot and twin-roll casted Mg-Al-Mn magnesium sheets were examined during deep drawing at elevated temperatures. The twin-roll casted sheets possessed smaller grain sizes and weaker basal intensity levels than the ingot-casted sheets. The strength and elongation at room temperature for the twin-roll casted sheets were greater than those of the ingot-casted sheets. At elevated temperatures, the ingot-casted sheets showed better elongation than the twin-roll casted sheets. Different size and density of precipitates were examined using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) for both ingot-casted and twin-roll-casted sheets. The deep drawing process was also carried out at various working temperatures and deformation rates, 225°Cto350°C and 30 mm/min to 50 mm/min, respectively. The middle wall part of cups were mainly tensile deformation, and the lower bent regions of drawn cups were most thinned region. Overall, the ingot-casted sheets revealed better deep drawability than the twin-roll casted sheets. Microstructure and texture evolution of the top, middle and lower parts of drawn cups were investigated using electron backscatter diffraction. Increased deformation rate is important to activate tensile twins both near the bent and flange areas. Ingot casted sheets revealed more tensile twins than twin-roll casted sheets. Increased working temperature is important to activate non-basal slips and produce the DRXed grain structure in the flange. Dynamic recrystallization were frequently found in the top flanges of the cups. Both tensile twins and non-basal slips contributed to occurrence of the dynamic recrystallization in the flange.
