In this review, the source of spinal cord blood collection and how the age of the child relates to the position of spinal cord lesions is also discussed. We concluded that the ante mortem MRI examination and post mortem examination of whole-length spinal cord is of fundamental interest for the assessment of abuse in the forensic setting.
  Prosthetic joint infection (PJI) after total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is a significant burden in health care. Diagnosis and proper management are challenging. A standardised procedure for the diagnostic workup and surgical management provides clear benefits in outcome.
 
  Several diagnostic protocols and definitions for PJI were established in recent years. Proper PJI diagnosis remains critical for success and for choosing the optimal treatment option. A distinct workup of diagnostic steps, the evaluation of the results in a multidisciplinary setup and the meticulous surgical management of the infection are the key factors of successful treatment.
 
  The management of PJI after TKA consists of early revision with debridement and implant retention (DAIR) in early cases or staged revision in late infections beyond 30days postoperative or after onset of acute symptoms. The revision is performed as a two-stage procedure with the use of a fixed or mobile antibiotic spacer, or in selected cases as a single-stage operation with the use of local and systemic antibiotic treatment.
 
  This paper reflects the opinion of two revision surgeons who follow the same protocol for diagnosis and treatment of PJI after TKA, highlighting the key steps in diagnosis and management.

 Expert's opinion.Laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR) is defined as backflow of gastral or gastroduodenal content into the upper aerodigestive tract and characterized by a variety of unspecific symptoms such as chronic cough, globus sensation, or mucus hypersecretion. Due to the lack of a gold standard and the heterogeneity of studies, the diagnosis of LPR is still problematic and challenging. However, in patients with characteristic symptoms and endoscopic findings, with an increased reflux symptom index, a pathologic reflux finding score (RFS), pathologic 24 h esophageal or oropharyngeal pH monitoring, and without any other underlying condition, the diagnosis of LPR is probable. In the following review, we critically discuss the abovementioned methods as well as more recent tools such as measurements of pepsin concentrations in the saliva for diagnosis of LPR.During his celebrated 1922 debate with Bergson, Einstein famously proclaimed "the time of the philosopher does not exist, there remains only a psychological time that differs from the physicist's." The chronological age allotted to individuals is conceived as an objective quantity, allowing one to straightforwardly assign and compare the biological age of organisms. This essay argues that the standard practice of assessing the age and aging of organisms against the backdrop of a physical conception of time is problematic. Usually an assigned employee records manually the temperatures of the hospital cold storages such as refrigerators and freezers that keep them at regular intervals. In this research, a low power wireless Bluetooth Low Energy network is applied where the central monitoring personal computer, receives the temperature data and stores in a database. The system consists of many beacons which are wirelessly sending the measured temperature data, and the central monitoring computer which allows the user to monitor that data. In the case of wireless signals getting blocked due to obstacles, repeaters called bridges send the data to the central computer forming a so-called scatter net. Once the data is received by the Bluetooth module connected to the monitoring computer, an application saves the data into a database. This web application forms a website where the users holding the authentication information can log in and monitor the temperature data in the form of tables and graphs. The same information can be viewed by a smartphone and a person in charge receives a warning SMS message. This system also provides a scheduled backup system where the database is automatically backed up periodically.
